A story revolving around the "relationship" between Jaffe and Gahbriogyva.
Two people who would rather torture one another above all other things.

It was warm, relaxing, everything she could expect form being back at home with her mother and father. She hated the feeling. The smell of almond and honey that her mother adored seemed to fill the air like a thick fog that flooded her nose and blended with the subtle smells of nature from outside. At least it was enough to drown out the scent of blood from her father’s axe. Although it rested in the lowest level of their basement it was always lingering in the air when her mother decided to forgo using the normal air freshening times she chose. It had never been brought up, but perhaps she could smell it too. The aroma of grilled lamb and boiled brussels sprout along with freshly baked bread and a sauce her mother had said was a “work in progress” was scattered about the room. Pleasant. Wonderful. Then again her mother never failed at cooking a new dish.
‘I’m glad you could join us for dinner sweetheart. It gets lonely here without you, so it pleases me whenever you make the time for us.’
‘Of course mother. I could not refuse a request from my own mother. Besides, your cooking is not something I would so easily pass up on.’
It was so easy to please the woman, watching as she giddily moved across the kitchen to move the dishes to the table where they would sit. She came here only for her sake after all. If it weren’t by her request Gabi would avoid this house at all costs, attempting to stay away from her father as best she could. It was annoying to say the very least. She sniffed the air, attempting to calm her nerves yet only agitating them more. Why?
‘Could you go and get your father for me? He should be in his office.’
‘Sure mom.’
‘Thank you. Please try to get along. For me.’
The only response she gave was a smile, but that was more than enough. More than what she would give in the past. As she walked across the house and up the stairs it reminded her of just how small her parent’s home was compared to her own. They preferred a much smaller space, something that didn’t draw much attention and as such it felt just as homey as her mother liked it while having just enough space to hold everything her father found to be necessary.
As she walked into the doorway of his study she could see the man hard at work. How someone who did nothing but kill for a living it was ridiculous to see the massive amount of paperwork he had to do. She had looked at his work only once when she was a child and that alone was reason enough to know why he preferred to work alone and had no servants do this work for him. Page after page of contracts, handwritten descriptions of how they were culled and the reason for why it had to be done. It was all extremely detailed and did not lack the slightest bit of information. If he were meant to be the one to kill someone he would make certain that Xainayne knew he was the one who did it and no one else had a hand in the work. So dutiful, but never where it really counted.
She almost spoke, but chose to have her fun instead. Approaching him without a sound she spread her wings as if prepared to envelope him in darkness. Her smile grew wider and wider, anticipation growing more and more and then, as if flipping on a switch, her eyes turned from blue to deep red. The speed at which he spun around was undeniably panicked, he was as sharp as ever, but it wasn’t fast enough to catch her expression or her eyes. That did not however erase the look he had on his own face. Something akin to being face to face with a ghost, bright red eyes staring directly into her own. She almost played it off completely, but seeing him as still as stone caused the most miniscule amount of growing worry.
‘Father? Are you alright?’
‘Huh? Oh… yeah, I’m fine. Just thought you were someone else for a second.’
‘Mother says dinner is prepared. Let’s go.’
He nodded as he rose from his seat slowly, a few blinks of his own eyes and they were a barely visible red. That was a first. Something she had never experienced before. IT would have left her confused, but then she remembered how she had chosen to change her hair to be like her grandmother’s. He had probably thought his mother was standing right behind him and in a sense it would be understandable to see him so riled up. She did not however expect him to look so frightened. How shameful.
As they made their way down the stairs she spotted her mother waiting patiently at the table for the two of them. Everything had already been set and placed, a large smile plastered on her face as to be expected. She returned her smile much like she always did, sniffing the air once again as they reached the bottom of the stairs. Perhaps it was her father who was agitating her. The male moved to be at his wife’s side quickly, helping her gather whatever else she needed as well as one of his jars of alcohol. That stuff never ceased to piss her off. The smell was so strong it destroyed everything else around it and yet he drank it like water and kept his senses about him!
‘You plan to drink that with dinner, love? Are you feeling well?’
‘Yeah. Nothing too serious happened. Just a headache.’
‘If you say so. Come Gabi! Sit and eat with us.’
The three moved to the table and prepared their own plates, Cyva getting a portion befitting a normal person while her daughter and husband got enough food to destroy the economy of a small village. Watching Gahbreal eat was like seeing a starved dog get their first meal for the day, his meal disappearing bite by bite. Gabi, on the other hand, was a more subtle and formal eater. She cut her food as if the meal were presented in a five star restaurant and savored every piece. The problem was her speed, eating piece by piece at a pace that looked as inhuman as it was.
‘How can you both eat like that? I know my food is good, but you could at least take your time with it.’
‘But I am taking my time with it.’
‘…I can’t say the same as Gabi, but you know I’ve always eaten like this, rabbit.’
‘I know, and I wish you didn’t, wolf.’
‘If you keep making good food I’ll keep eating it like your daughter will eat it all if I don’t hurry.’
‘I do not eat that much.’
‘There’s no need to lie, dear. You eat more food than your father.’
‘You hear that? Your mother agrees with me so it has to be true.’
‘I hate you so much it is agonizing.’
‘There’s no need to be so hurt about it. Here, have some of this. It will help you feel better.’
He reached out his hand, the glass jar of alcohol so close she smell the contents without it even being opened. She gagged at the thought of ingesting the liquid within, as clear as water yet deceptively so. The look she gave Gahbreal could have shattered the jar to pieces alone and yet it only made the male laugh. She however could not figure out for the life of her what was so funny.
‘You can’t be serious? It’s not that bad, even your mother has tried it.’
‘He is lying. Right?’
‘Sadly he’s not. It is not as bad as it seems.’
‘See? Come on. Give it a try and I’m sure you’ll like it.’
She grabbed the jar quickly and gave him a look of disapproval. While she did not care whether or not her mother drank it she did assume that if she were still alive then it would not outright obliterate her from the inside out. She twisted the top from the jar and regretted the decision as quickly as she did. She scowled, wanting to throw the glass against the wall and yet that would only make a mess for her mother to clean. No need for hesitation, no need to wait, she simply raised the jar and drank as much as she could before placing the jar back on the table and beginning to gasp for air. Why was it so strong?! It was as if the stuff coated her entire mouth and throat! The scent was strong before, but now it was unbearable.
‘Calm down pup, just take deep breaths.’
‘That’s… harder than it fucking sounds!’
She took a few deep breaths, trying her hardest not to vomit all over the floor. It tasted like death! Novevu liquified and stuffed into a bottle! She could tell he was enjoying this and in that moment he wanted nothing more than to strangle the life out of him and yet seeing her own mother giggle made this more embarrassing than it had to be. Why was she laughing at her? It was enough to make her want to cry, or was that just the alcohol? This was agonizing! Yet as she took one last deep breath things seemed to get better for her now irritated throat. She closed her mouth and inhaled through her nose, eye growing wide for a moment as her head turned on a swivel.
What was that? What in the name of the Xainayne was that?
‘Gabi?’ her mother’s voice brought her back to the situation at hand. ‘Are you okay dear?’
‘Y-yes! Perfectly fine!’ She spoke as she stumbled back to her seat. When had she even stood up? ‘That was easy! Nothing for someone like me! It smelled like fucking garbage, but it ain’t something I can’t handle!’
‘Oh dear… Gahbreal?’
‘Yeah, I noticed. Say Gabi, how much do you normally drink?’
‘Me? Well, I ain’t one to do it often, if ever really. My coworkers say I “can’t handle my liquor” but they can all go fuck themselves! I’ll do whatever I damn well please and that’s a fucking fact!’
Gahbreal placed his palm over his forehead, shielding himself from the smile his daughter gave him. Eyes flickering between red and blue, head swaying back and forth, the only thing that was still in order was her hair yet that wouldn’t last if she didn’t keep her head still.
‘How is my daughter such a light drinker?’
‘I don’t know love. I think it’s rather cute.’
‘It would be cute if we didn't have the group of friends that we have. We can never allow Haden learn about this. You know that right?’
Gabi looked at the two of them, failing to hold in her laughter as they both struggled to decide on what should be done. The only time her focus ever sharpened in the slightest was when she sniffed the air, her eyes looking about as if attempting to see something that wasn’t there and giving her parents a casual 'do you smell that?' to which neither of them had a proper answer. She had quickly begun to enjoy herself against all odds in this scenario, but deep down she was no doubt screaming her soul to pieces. This was why she never drank, this was why she barely went out to dinner functions, nothing about this was acceptable unless she had already chosen to drink in which case she wouldn't be capable of understanding just what kind of situation she was in. At least this wasn't in public. Even so she could not shake the feeling that something did not smell right in the air. Something different from normal.

Jaffe had never considered herself much of a voyeur in her personal life, but professionally, it seemed like all she really did. It was almost as exciting as the payoff. Tuning out physical inconveniences like itches and bug bites became instinctual. To say it was second nature would be a disservice because that implied there was something to think about.
She sat idly in her coop, the soft breeze of what was turning into a cool evening gently brushing blonde hair over her ears. The cool rubber of her binoculars rested comfortably on her nose, a light sheen of sweat having pooled around the area and finally forcing her to adjust. There was no need for a weapon today since this was nothing more than recon, and if she so desired, a little fun. It was starting to feel like it would branch into fun. She had been watching the family for months; the house itself, weeks. All three of them were on her list for different reasons. There was no family she found more fascinating and completely appealing as this one.
The father, Gahbreal, a legendary Aikekunai who seemed only a few steps removed from Treasure. It was not completely outside of his ability to assume the title in Jaffe's opinion, either. He would be the greatest challenge to turn over to the Program, but probably also the greatest profit. Just selling one of his hands would line her pockets enough to afford a small island.
The mother, Cyva. She was the one Jaffe knew the least about but desired to keep for herself the most. That way, Jaffe could learn everything she wanted to know. Like what Cyva looked like when she was bled out pint by pint...
Jaffe licked her lips, noticing the way she started salivating at the very thought. It would be best to move onto the next on her list.
Gahbriogyva, the daughter. She was something of a public figure in the human world as well. Jaffe had seen her around, followed her to a few events, but they had yet to be introduced. The human and claimant trafficker wanted the conditions to be just right. She had restrained herself for months to wait for the right time. The endless possibilities for scenarios often kept her up at night, leading her to wherever Gabi was just so she could see her prize and observe the finish line.
There was a difference in her attraction to each family members.
For Gahbreal, she desired nothing more than to sell him and bathe in his blood. For Cyva, all she wanted was to keep her forever, perfectly preserved, never to harm. As if she were a precious collectible figurine. For Gahbriogyva, Jaffe lusted after her flesh, in whatever way it may come. She desired Gabi in every sense of the word. And by Naiick, she would have her.
The trophy cases Jaffe had planned for them all were going to be complementary. She thought it was cute to keep them recognizable as having been together.
The light-skinned woman consulted a watch on her right wrist, glancing up at the sky. The sun was getting lower now, threatening to drop her into darkness on this remote farm. Lithe limbs took that as her cue to engage the next step of the evening's activities.
Jaffe was tall and thin, standing over six feet. She had used her height to play soccer in what she described as 'another life'. If anyone remembered what she was like when she played, she was a star goalie. And anyone that knew her now could recognize that they were nothing alike.
Tall grass parting with every step brought the woman called Jaffe back to her senses. It felt nice here, peaceful. She could understand the allure of wanting to grow roots here. It smelled like a mix of trees and farm animals. Which one of the family tended to farm animals, she wondered? Perhaps only Gahbreal? The two women didn't seen the type to get down and dirty like that. Or, actually - Cyva was so perfect that there was a chance that she would do it if Gahbreal asked her.
A tall corn stalk snapped off in her hand. The woman didn't know when she had grabbed it, or why she had gripped it hard enough to rip it out of the ground, but she elected to ignore the underlying reasons and drop it. It hadn't happened in a long time, but her daydreaming about her fantasies was a problem at one point. It was as if the world around her faded away in favor of what she wanted to see. She would have to see Naiick about it again.
Nevertheless, the woman called Jaffe found herself standing in front of the farmhouse door. She smoothed down the front of her shirt as if being nervous about her presentation. She wasn't immaculately dressed for any kind of occasion, instead sporting loose navy blue cargo pants and a T-shirt. Her hair was up in a bun to keep it out of her face. By her calculations, she didn't appear threatening. And walking into the house of three of the most dangerous claimants active in the mortal realm was nothing short of suicide wish. The adrenaline of it all brought her lust to completely new levels.
Jaffe stood there, completely unmoving, for a long minute. She could hear them inside, laughing, having a great time. They were... a family. Familial. They loved each other. Gabi didn't laugh like that at her press events. Gahbreal didn't laugh at work at all. Cyva's voice filtered through the door like a siren's song.
If she could, Jaffe wished she could keep them as they were in moments like these. If there was a way to capture this very second, she would do it. So she could replay it for comparison to their looks of utter pain and hopelessness.
Knuckles swiftly rapped against the door before pressing on the doorbell. Jaffe rocked back and forth on her feet, glancing around to see if anyone was peeking at her through a window. Heavy approaching footsteps signalled that Gahbreal was the one approaching.
"Hello?" He opened the door cautiously, looking first slightly down at her before fanning a look around her. She was alone. Who was this, exactly, and why did she know where they lived?
"Hey, you're Gahbreal, right?" Jaffe's demeanor changed to what it would normally be as she threw on a facade.
"I am. You are?"
"Damn, Gabi looks just like you! I'm Jaffe, her friend from work. She invited me to dinner and I - oh, god, am I late?"
"Friend... from... work... ?" Gahbreal seemed almost stunned. He stood comically still, his eyes wide in incredulity as he considered what was being said to him. Then just as easily, a satisfied smile grew across his features.
"Yeah, so... Am I late? I'm starting to think I'm late."
He shook his head and grinned again, ushering her into the house. She liked the set of his jaw and the way his skin looked in the fading light. The numbers in her head ran up as she tried to discern how much flaying him would catch.
"Not at all!" Gahbreal cooed, leading the stranger to the dining room. Cyva looked up in confusion and surprise, Gabi mildly acknowledging the newcomer but not enough to really take note of it.
"Gabi, why didn't you tell us you invited your friend?" Gahbreal asked as he made room for the woman to sit. "We would've waited or something. Now we all look like starving assholes."
"Oh, I knew I was late!" Jaffe exclaimed, following it with a soft pout to garner consolation from the sympathetic Gahbreal.
"Hush, there's plenty to eat."
"I'll warm it up," Cyva offered, getting up from her seat and stifling a giggle as she made her way to the kitchen. She had mouthed to Gahbreal over the girls' shoulder 'WHO IS THIS?' to which Gahbreal mouthed back, 'FRIEND' and now the two wanted to giggle over their daughter inviting someone to their house for the first time in her life.
"Don't mind her, she's a bit drunk," Cyva called from around the corner.
Once the parents were finally out of earshot, Jaffe's fake smile disappeared. She regarded Gabi honestly now, completely analytically, with no false pretenses between them. She lived up to every second of the fantasies so far.
"Drunk, are you?" Jaffe approached the woman cautiously, icy eyes reflecting a predatory grin. "Drunk like you were at your Christmas party?" Long legs crossed the room slowly until they were standing close enough to whisper and be perfectly heard. "Or maybe drunk like you were at that brunch place last month? While it's true you can't hold your liquor for shit, I still like you. That is a flaw I can overlook."

‘Flaw?’ Gabi spoke as she straightened her posture, wings folding perfectly behind her back. ‘Dear, flaws only exist when comparing the weak to the strong. In that world, wouldn’t I be flawless?’
She chuckled to herself, the serious façade dispersing behind a veil of drunkenness that could not be shaken. She had heard the confrontation which took place between this person and her father. Was this a friend of hers? Perhaps she had simply forgotten, or for lack of better words couldn’t be bothered to care. Nevertheless they had shown up here of all places which meant two things specifically of which her parents also had certainly understood. This was a claimant no doubt and they were certainly well informed. It was smart to use a connection to her in order to justify even making an appearance at their doorstep. Now the only question was why this person even chose to show up?
She watched as her parents went to work preparing a portion of food which their guest could eat. What did she say her name was again? Jaffe? Cute enough, but more importantly was the allure she carried. Compared to herself she wouldn’t say she was the best looking, but she was certainly better than most others she had managed to know. What was most important however was her confidence and her scent, she could practically smell the power coming off of her. Comparable? She was no Nier, not the frontline fighter she would call her father nor the tactician of combat her mother was. She gave off something far more delicious compared to all of them.
‘Desire.’
‘What was that Gabi?’
‘Ah, nothin’ ma. Just a realization.’
She stood to her feet and without a shred of caution wrapped her arms around Jaffe’s waist, her wings almost moving to envelope her into the soft feathers and yet she chose to hold herself back. Now was not the time to get drawn in, or maybe it was. She could barely keep herself steady. She rested her head on Jaffe’s shoulder, the scent of outside filling her nostrils as her black strands of hair fell over their shoulder.
‘Hey papa, you don’t mind if I stay over here for the night do you? I don’t know if I’m gonna be reliably getting home tonight.’
‘O-of course! Whatever you want!’
‘And, y’all both wouldn’t mind if Jaffe stays with me? I think it would be rather fun to have a sleepover.’
Her mother and father exchanged a confused gaze. This was an odd request, of course, but then again this was the first time they had ever seen Gabi this drunk. Then again this was the first time they had ever managed to see her drunk at all. While Cyva seemed more concerned at the thought of it, Gahbreal was more than pleased. No doubt happy that his daughter was ta least capable of getting along with someone, anyone enough to have then around for more than a few hours if eve that.
‘Aren’t you a bit too old for sleepovers Gabi?’
‘It’s fine Cyva, it’s fine. She’ll be perfectly fine. Of course your friend can stay!’
It might have been difficult to speak normally, but her father was just as much of a pushover with these things as always. At least now she would be capable of holding onto this new guest long enough to possibly get a taste of whatever strength she had. Perhaps she would take her outside at some point, pull her aside and see how long she can last in a fight? Maybe she could just hit her with every ounce of her strength to see if her body would break? What a lovely thought! A shiver slipped up her spine as she pulled herself away from this person, her eyes making contact with their guest, red orbs filled with an almost deranged interest. Perhaps it would be best to focus on her meal for now, but it was difficult to focus on the main course with her dessert right before her eyes.
‘Are you alright wolf pup? Keeping your balance?’
‘Shut, up papa. I’m perfectly fine, I don’t need any damn help.’
A quick blink and her blue eyes were back on display. She pulled out the seat at their table next to her own and motioned for Jaffe to sit beside her. For her it felt like a simple gesture, for anyone else looking on it would look more like an invitation to hell. She carried a look on her face which suggested an unquenchable thirst, a want for something only she would understand but Jaffe no doubt knew that look. A look she often gave off when faced with other claimants who peaked her interest. Cheeks burning a rosy red, eyes glazed over with lust, tongue brushing against her lips. The primal, insatiable hunger for conflict.
‘Come now darling, I won’t bite. I promise.’ She spoke as she plopped down into her own seat and continued with her meal. For now she would just continue with things as normally as possible, or as best she could. ‘So then, papa, has work been treating you well? I heard you’d been workin’ with Nier recently.’
‘And who told you that?’
‘Xainayne, of course.’
‘Of course Xainayne did… it’s been fine. As always, Nier is extremely efficient. I don’t know why they ever send me anywhere with him. He can clearly deal with almost all matters on his own, but I feel like they believe he just needs the company. Then again I suppose his work can drive a person to abandon some “feelings” if left to simmer alone.’
‘He’s a good man and clearly someone you can trust, but he’s much like you in a way, Gahbreal?’
‘What do you mean by that, love?’
‘I mean just as I can’t be the only one to look after you, Chaemai can’t be the only one to look after Nier. She needs you to help her just as much as I need Nier to help me with you. You both have a tendency of wanting to do everything on your own.’
‘You’re right as always, but that’s something I can’t help from doing. My work isn’t the type of thing I’d prefer to subject others to. That’s why my role is as important as it is.’
‘Try not to kill yourself, papa. If y’all believe I need to relax then you’re in the same position.’ Besides, your life belongs to me alone.
‘Heh, I suppose you’re right wolf pup.’
‘How have all of the animals been ma?’
‘You’re interested in the animals? Why the sudden care for them? Last I checked you didn’t much care for any of them except for the small ones. I remember you used to take all of the babies and keep them in your room.’
Gabi’s eyes grew wide as her head fell back. Why would she say something like that?! Her mother always had the capability of embarrassing her beyond belief, but the way she giggled as she did it only made her want to back down and let it happen. Then again the look on her face and the body language she displayed always caused the Woxia claimant to take a step back and comfort her daughter.
‘I’m sorry, I just could not keep from remembering it. You were so small back then I could still pick you up and carry you around.’ She spoke plainly as she and Gahbreal reapproached the table with a full course of food for Jaffe. ‘The animals have been fine as well as the land itself. I hope you do not mind me asking for your help when it comes time to harvest again. You make the work so much faster.’
‘Of course, just let me know when and I’ll clear my schedule for that week. You should secure the animal pins better however.’ She sniffed the air, giggling under her breath as her eyes shifted to Jaffe. ‘Something tells me the predators are going to be a bit more active this year. I can smell it in the air.’
‘You think so? Well, you’ve never been wrong about these sorts of things. Sometimes I envy your sense of smell, but then I remember how long it took you to get used to it.’
‘You’d hate it, especially when it comes time to work. Speaking of work. Jaffe, how have things been on your end? I hear business has been rather fruitful, but then again people in our industry rarely ever do anything right.’ She leaned back in her seat, legs crossing as her hands rested peacefully in her lap. For now she had to stall in order to keep things moving until she could sober up. The worst that could happen would be her managing to fall asleep. ‘So many mistakes, so many failed lines, so many wastes of talent. It’s hard to find people who can really satisfy… is it not?’

Gabi quickly proved time and time again why she was more valuable than her weight in gold: she was entertaining. Jaffe couldn't help the honest grin that parted her lips as Gabi considered her responses.
Jaffe wondered after the woman's wings, musing about how she had never seen a night as dark as the set protruding from Gabi's back. They moved fluidly with the woman, completely responsive. Jaffe couldn't help the way her mouth became slack with awe, but she did at least catch it early. She had seen them so many times, but this was the first in such close proximity. Gabi was truly breathtaking. She was mesmerizing, like a glamor.
The former professional goalie's brows raised inquisitively as Gabi rose from her seat, keeping perfect, dangerous eye contact as she approached Jaffe and languidly looped her arms around the woman's waist. A flower that could only be called lust bloomed somewhere deep in Jaffe's gut as she became hyperaware of the touch.
Gahbriogyva laid her head on Jaffe's shoulder gently. It was a softness that Jaffe ordinarily would not have attributed to the woman and honestly caught her off guard. She expected some hostility, not vulnerability, though she was sure even this display was calculated. Jaffe was hesitant to return the motion but she couldn't help the honest way Gabi's arms around her made her cheeks threaten to blush. When was the last time someone had touched her in a manner that could make her blush, anyway? She could probably list off Gabi's recent sexual habits more flawlessly than her own.
Long limbs lurched into action to respond to the motion, enveloping the pale woman. She was warm. She felt nice. Jaffe hadn't even realized her hands had a mind of their own, trailing up her partner's back and taking a fistful of hair. She caught herself in enough time to resist forcing Gabi's head back with it - she wanted to expose her throat, see her vulnerabilities up close and admire the way blood pumped through her body.
"Desire."
Jaffe further practiced restraint and loosened her grip instead. That was something to be explored later.
"Just Jaffe," she responded to jokingly correct the woman's outburst. Half of her wondered if Gabi knew who she was, but the better half knew that was impossible. No one knew who she was. And she was sure that if Gabi had caught her spying before, she'd have come to address it. So why was she so touchy, so open? Was it all a long con? Jaffe was interested to see the payoff and didn't mind getting strung along to see it.
Gahbriogryva was two inches taller than Jaffe. The pale woman rested her head on her shorter partner's shoulder and almost swayed for a moment, pressing her weight into Jaffe enough to paint a better picture of how little she could hold her liquor. It was evident on her breath. The moonshine smelled sweet and strong - the Testua claimant found herself hesitating at Gabi's lips as they passed by.
I can't wait.
Jaffe bit her lip, eyelids fluttering for a moment in overwhelming ecstasy. Fists clenched and unclenched as she tried to hold herself back from shoving her newest prize against the nearest wall and making a scene in her parents' home. It was funny, Jaffe had not intended on interacting with Gahbriogyva this way. The trip inside the house was more to establish a baseline of her behaviors and get a first-person layout. It was turning into something much more rewarding.
The way she sauntered after Gabi was something like a cartoon character following a trail of hearts. She gathered her composure once the table was in sight, stepping back into the aloof character of one of Gabi's coworkers.
"You're both so generous," Jaffe gushed bashfully. "I don't want to make things awkward with the - y'know, sudden sleepover and whatnot. I can take Gabi home if it'd be easier." She took the seat offered to her without a second thought, pulling the chair into the table and looking up just in time to see the shocked expressions on Gahbreal and Cyva's faces. She shook it off and focused instead on the dining room decorations, appearing not to pay any mind but paying especially close attention to the conversation at hand. She played her part well: smiled where necessary, complimented the accompanying family pictures, made sure to keep her posture in check.
She knew of Nier through Gahbreal's connection to him but hadn't done any extensive research on the metal claimant. He gave off the vibe of the village idiot but Jaffe knew he was much more intelligent than that. He would be a difficult target. But that was the point - Jaffe craved the challenge. Her list grew by the day.
"How have all the animals been ma?" Gabi's words slurred slightly at the tail ends. It brought a quirk to Jaffe's lips to think the woman could still be loopy over drinking almost nothing.
"You’re interested in the animals? Why the sudden care for them? Last I checked you didn’t much care for any of them except for the small ones. I remember you used to take all of the babies and keep them in your room."
The claimant trafficker chuckled at that. Then, as Cyva continued to reminisce on small Gabi, the chuckle escalated into a giggle. Cyva was so goddamned cute. Jaffe couldn't help but want to smile at every little thing she said.
The two approached with an absurd amount of food. Jaffe's eyes grew wide at the spread but it wasn't like she would be complaining. She could've cried at how happy she was to see it. A bowl of dinner rolls got sat down somewhere towards the middle of the table - Jaffe sneakily slid the entire bowl to her side and immediately began tearing one apart to eat. She ate six before touching another piece of food, damn near moaning with every bite.
"Something tells me the predators are going to be a bit more active this year. I can smell it in the air."
The caramel-skinned woman glanced over at Gabi, finding bright eyes already peering back at her. Jaffe swallowed the bread she was chewing with a knowing wink in response. She felt like such a slut - something as simple as a double-meaning to the conversation had her turned on.
"Jaffe, how have things been on your end?" The woman's ears perked up as she was directly referred to, pausing on a piece of bread she was tearing apart. "I hear business has been rather fruitful, but then again people in our industry rarely ever do anything right."
She nodded in agreement, flashing her teeth again when she smiled after finishing her food. "I'll drink to that." She grinned pointedly. "Uh, it's alright. The problem is the same... egos, entitlement, all that. I'm mostly a producer these days so I don't have to deal with it all the time, but actors are like wolves, y'know? Everyone thinks they're at the top of the food chain, that there's nothing like them. But coyotes are just like wolves. And they're scrappier, more resourceful. Behind the scenes, we're coyotes. All the bigwigs with their heads up their asses, in front of the camera, famous, whatever - those are the wounded deer dressed up as wolves." She popped another piece of bread into her mouth and shrugged. "Finding someone satisfying is easier when you don't commit yourself to getting to know them. Despite that, I'm sure you don't need me to tell you your daughter's no injured doe."
The blonde woman pushed stray hairs behind her ear, finishing off the bread before moving onto some meat. "This is really good, by the way - Gahbreal, I heard you make your own moonshine? Would you mind if I tried some?" Icy blue eyes twinkled with mischief. "Gabi and I just have to drink some together with how much she gushes about it."

Gabi was pleased with how this meal had turned out, attempting to clear her system and calm her mind with her assortment of food. The lamb was perfectly tender, no doubt prepared by her father who relished the opportunity to use his grill. The flavors throughout were of course the work of her mother, savory yet with tinges of sweetness that ended with a slight spice. Perhaps they were the vestiges of ginger, red peppers and cream, gifted a subtle spark from the brussels sprout which most likely added the sweetness. Having cut her lamb into cubes and mixing it into her sauce with the brussels sprouts really did serve to enhance the flavors to exactly where she had desired. She couldn’t keep from squirming in her seat with a smile as she munched on the meal piece by piece.
On the other end of the spectrum, more towards her curiosity, she found their guest to be doing a far better job than she had expected. This Jaffe was fairly competent, more so than the regular garbage she often found herself dealing with. Perhaps this would be a more enjoyable thing after all. Then again there could only really be so much to enjoy out of a situation like this.
‘This is really good, by the way - Gahbreal, I heard you make your own moonshine? Would you mind if I tried some?’ Of course this was not what she believed it was going to be. She wouldn’t dare. She had just started feeling slightly more sober! Although, this did give the slightest bit of insight into this person. If they knew about her father’s pastimes, then surely she was someone who had spent ample time looking into her. This was becoming more interesting by the second. ‘Gabi and I just have to drink some together with how much she gushes about it.’
Absolutely diabolical. However, this did open up an opportunity she could certainly abuse. She smiled as she stood to her feet, reaching her hand across the table toward her father who looked hesitant to give her the jar in his possession. Her eyes glaring down at him ever so slightly was enough to change his mind.
‘These types of things are to be taken with gusto, aren’t I correct… father?’
‘Yeah, of course. I suppose you can’t really have a drink without planning on getting completely hammered.’
‘Gahbreal?!’
‘What? She’s not lyin. There wouldn’t be a point to it otherwise.’
‘Exactly.’ Gabi spoke as she downed the rest of the water in her glass before grabbing Jaffe’s glass and doing the same, a lack of care for its contents. ‘If we’re going to do this. It’s gonna be all the way… my dear.’
She filled both of their glasses to the brim, leaving no room for air or error. If this was the type of game they’d be playing then she planned to win. Victory in all things! And just to make certain things went her way she was going to have to make sure she did this with enough clarity still intact to make her move. She was certainly a poor drinker and once this was through she wouldn’t be capable of much aside from stumbling about and acting on whims, but that was all she really needed at the end of the day!
As she slammed the nearly empty jar down onto the table she lifted her glass, somehow not spilling a drop in her still slightly intoxicated state. She stood tall, eyes locking onto Jaffe with no sense of accomplishment. Rather there was a stark blue peering at her form. If she weren’t so… so something! She might have just killed her off already. Snapped her bones, twisted her head backwards, examined the sounds her body made as it was twisted into a state of disrepair and encase her bones into the floor of her display room with the rest. However she instead would lift the glass to her lips and begin chugging down the contents.
Horrendous.
She placed the glass back down, stumbling back slightly. She could feel a shiver creep up her spine as her wings frayed, but she couldn’t lose focus just yet. This stuff was just far too strong for her. Even so she had to put her plan into action. Surely her father wouldn’t mind it at all, neither her mother, but as she placed her hand over her face and allowed her eyelids to blink so too did the accompanying flash of red engulf the three standing before her.
Was it overkill? Possibly. However, this would mean that Jaffe wouldn’t be using any dirty tricks to slink her way out of this situation she placed herself into. Unless she could drink like her father or anyone else who shared that stuff with him, they would both end up at least somewhat less than optimal, although there was doubt that anyone would be nearly as fucked as her…
‘Are you good Gabi? YoU’Re nOt LOOkiNg Too GoOD.’
‘Huh? What?’
‘YoU kNOw ShE CAN’t DriNK ThAT MucH! WE JUsT SetTLEd ThIS MAttEr EarLiER GaHBreaL!’
‘This is… somethin alright.’ She spoke as she sat back in her seat. Everything felt as if it were swirling around her, even the words coming out of everyone’s mouths. Her head drooped down to the table steadily, her hair nearly falling into her food before springing back up. ‘I’m good! Don’t chu look at me like some weak fuck or I swear t’god I’ll cut off yer pinky toe! Now, you drink yers too or I'll nevr give ya a hug again.'
Her head turned in Jaffe’s direction, cheeks and ears completely red which now matched with her eyes. She scanned the woman like a robot, sitting up completely straight with the goofiest smile she could muster. Was Jaffe this nice on the eyes before? Something about her was oddly alluring, and the way she had moved her hair behind her ear was adorable. Gahbreal could barely contain his laughter, Cyva attempting to have him keep his composure until she pointed a hand toward the woman sitting at her side and exclaimed without any holding back or second thoughts.
‘This lady, is beautiful! In’t she papa?’
‘Yeah sweetheart.’ He spoke with laughter slipping through his lips. ‘Very beautiful.’
‘I’m glad ya think so… I’m gona fuck her soul out tonite, so you both better leave me alone when I do!’
Gahbreal fell back in his seat, laughing hysterically as Cyva quickly scrambled to recover the situation. For the father it almost seemed like he was more than happy to see this side of his normally cold daughter. For Cyva it was a completely different situation. She wanted to laugh, yet had to remain the adult in this room of giants.
‘Alright, I believe everyone has had more than enough to drink tonight. Wouldn’t you agree Gahbreal?’
‘Agree? Hah! This is perfect! I should have recorded this if I knew it was going in this direction!’
‘Dear lord. Jaffe, dear, when you finish your meal perhaps it is best you two go for a walk and clear her head?’ The mother chuckled slightly seeing her daughter shamelessly begin to cling to the woman. Knowing that she could at least treat others like friends was reassuring in a way, even if it was horribly outshined by her outburst. ‘I will deal with the cleaning and my child of a husband. You two just try to enjoy yourselves.’
All she could ever smell from this stuff was alcohol, but now she was snuffing out the smell coating her mouth with Jaffe’s scent. She scooted over to the woman’s side and nestled her nose against her neck. A part of her wanted to take a bite, perhaps a little nibble, but instead she would do nothing more than opt to smell this person who she could not currently perceive as an enemy. However this did not keep her from doing what she did best. One might say that even though she found herself in this state that it did not extinguish her desires in the slightest, her lips curling into a smirk as she whispered the words directly to her company.
‘I ain’t lyin, you know… I’m gonna have you. Yer already mine.’ Surely it wouldn’t be a terrible idea? ‘Everything I want, always becomes mine.’ No one would mind would they? ‘Every last drop of everything you have will belong to me.’
Before she could even register what was happening she found her lips tracing the edge of the woman’s ear. Perhaps it was the motion she had made prior, moving her hair out of the way and exposing it. Drawing her in like some sort of temptress! Well that wasn’t how this was meant to play out. This was all going exactly as she desired. Right? Even so that did not keep her from nibbling on the edge of Jaffe’s ear with a pleased smile. Oh how much she had wanted to sink her teeth deeper into her prey, but now was not the time. She instead chose to back away slowly, leaving her with a simple— ‘Unless you'd rather somethin different?’

ɪ'ᴠᴇ ɴᴇᴠᴇʀ ꜱᴏ ᴀᴅᴏʀᴇᴅ ʏᴏᴜ
The dynamic of this family made Jaffe almost yearn for the life she had before this one. She didn't have a sob story that made her into a monster. Her mother and father reminded her of Gahbreal and Cyva in a way: they had loved her, doted on her, laughed when she laughed just because it brought them joy to see her happy. They had made it possible for her to pursue soccer as a profession from the first time she ever kicked around a ball.
She snapped back into reality by popping the piece of bread she was holding into her mouth. She did not often reminisce about her family - what was it about today that made the memories come in constant waves? Something about Gabi's family?
The black-winged beast Gahbriogyva reached with grabby hands for her father's moonshine jar. The enthusiasm in which she did it had Jaffe raising her brows. Gabi was a lightweight. Why would she ever put herself in a situation where she'd be at such a disadvantage? And the fact that she went along with everything rather than challenging it or bringing up the fact that she had never met Jaffe before... It was confusing as to who really had the upper hand here. Jaffe couldn't figure out if she was the spider or the fly anymore.
When Gabi downed her entire glass of water followed by Jaffe's as well, it was safe to say that the sex trafficker had a pit of dread growing in her stomach. It only grew bigger as the dark-haired beauty refilled both glasses to the brim with moonshine. Jaffe could smell it from where she was sitting - it smelled like death. Her stomach turned over in early protest.
Jaffe was not proud of it and had hardly even noticed it until several seconds had already passed, but her jaw dropped when she watched Gabi chug the entire glass of moonshine and slam it back down on the table. No fucking way would she be doing that. She'd be drunk off her ass for a week!
This setup had pros and cons. The greatest pro, of course, was that Gahbriogyva was a horrible lightweight and this would likely turn out into something favorable. The con, Jaffe wasn't a fucking alcoholic, so she wasn't going to be in the best shape if she drank this, either.
The light-skinned woman slowly reached forward and slid her glass closer. She took a tentative sip and immediately grimaced. How in the hell did Gabi drink this shit without choking?
ɪ'ᴍ ᴛᴡɪꜱᴛɪɴɢ ᴀʟʟᴇɢᴏʀɪᴇꜱ ɴᴏᴡ
"Sure tastes like... moonshine," Jaffe managed to sputter out between sips. Gahbreal laughed at her reaction and she returned the sound, albeit after a little coughing. It was not often that she regretted her decisions but this... this was something straight out of hell.
"I’m good! Don’t chu look at me like some weak fuck or I swear t’god I’ll cut off yer pinky toe! Now, you drink yers too or I'll nevr give ya a hug again."
Gabi was obviously well over her limit. That was the only satisfaction Jaffe could find in her current predicament. The first couple of sips, she'd been able to convert the moonshine into water as soon as it entered her mouth. Now it burned the entire way down. There had been a slight flash like a camera going off but Jaffe hadn't paid much mind to it. She thought she had hallucinated it or something. Now it made sense: Gabi had used that bothersome stare on her. It was like being reduced to a human... It felt disgusting.
Jaffe rolled icy blue eyes to the back of her head as she took a gulp of her drink, then immediately washed it down with another piece of bread. She'd have to take some of these rolls home... Or maybe come back for more. Surely she had made enough of an impression on Cyva for her to make more dinner rolls?
Another gulp. Half the glass was gone now. Shit - only half? Her head felt heavy already, like her forehead could weigh down her entire body.
"This lady, is beautiful! In’t she papa?"
A genuine smile came from the blonde water claimant. Gabi sounded so drunk and the way she slurred her words was cute. She had this blush to her that made her look so much more innocent and approachable than she was. It was the kind of look that could make a woman fall in love with her if she wasn't careful.
"I’m glad ya think so… I’m gona fuck her soul out tonite, so you both better leave me alone when I do!"
Jaffe spit out the moonshine she was drinking by accident, spraying it over the table in front of her and immediately scrambling to clean it up. It was ironic. Just minutes ago she had fantasized about fucking Gahbriogyva in front of her parents and now that it was verbalized she was getting shy. It was like Gabi was in her head and beating her to her own punches. It was not something she was used to; nevertheless, it was most intriguing. Jaffe couldn't tell if the heat in her core was from embarrassment or raw lust. Either way, it burned hotter with every word out of Gabi's mouth.
"Dear lord." It seemed Cyva was a little embarrassed and proud of her daughter's brashness. Jaffe's eyes lit up when the woman spoke - even if Cyva were to tell her to eat shit, Jaffe would cherish it forever. "Jaffe, dear, when you finish your meal perhaps it is best you two go for a walk and clear her head?"
She swore she could climax right there just over the sound of Cyva saying her name. The feeling of Gabi's body heat getting closer until she was flush against Jaffe certainly didn't help the situation.
"You're so nice," Jaffe said in response, realizing her own words were coming out as if in italics. It made her giggle. "Walk, yes, least I can do. And can I - can I have some more bread?"
ɪ ᴡᴀɴᴛ ᴛᴏ ᴄᴏᴍᴘʟɪᴄᴀᴛᴇ ʏᴏᴜ
Another sip of moonshine... Everything felt fuzzy and hilarious. Jaffe knew her legs were going to dip out as soon as she tried to stand up. It was kind of fun. When was the last time she'd gotten drunk like this? The moonshine made her feel sexy and soft but also transparent. She wanted to talk and that was bad. Keeping her mouth shut was half the effort - keeping her legs the same way was the other half.
"I ain’t lyin, you know… I’m gonna have you. Yer already mine." Gabi's words came like a whisper in the night, filling up Jaffe's entire skull like smoke in a room. Her voice was low and a little husky, her breath warm. She smelled like moonshine and perfume. The more she spoke the harder Jaffe found it not to enact every fantasy she'd ever had about the woman right on the spot.
Gabi nibbled lightly on the shell of Jaffe's ear and that was the moment the water claimant decided she couldn't wait anymore.
"I'll show you what I want, hm?" She turned to face the woman, thumb coming up to brush a fallen eyelash away from her cheek. Gahbriogyva was beautiful. That was an objective fact. Jaffe wanted nothing more than to see this same perfect face contorted in delicious pain and pleasure. It was almost too tempting to wait for.
"How about a tour?" The former soccer player stood, allowing herself to waver for a moment before regaining most of her balance. She was certainly better off than Gabi. It was easy to get a tight hand around Gabi's shirt to pull her along out of her seat and down the hallway. "Come." She led the woman on while the actress was just barely off balance before letting Gabi finally put her weight on her. Jaffe kept a firm arm around the woman's waist - it was like carrying an overexcited puppy. Gabi felt solid and warm in her hands and the way her skin blushed red where touched made Jaffe want to lose her mind. However this ended, she had already gotten more than she could've planned for before setting out for the day.
Jaffe waited until the door to the house closed behind them. The night was quiet, greeting them with crickets and other bugs. It was soothing. It was perfect for screaming.
She pushed her conquest against the side of the house, her hands immediately becoming busy with trying to learn Gabi's body by touch. "I have an idea the first thing you can show me." She lifted one of the actress's legs to wrap around her body, enjoying the strong feeling of being in someone else's hold for once. Jaffe was giddy and giggling as she reached into a pocket and pulled out a pocket knife, expertly slashing her conquest's shirt open. "I want to hear you sing, little bird."

‘I’ll show you what I want, hm?’
She could never get used to this feeling. The feeling of her mind deciding one thing and her body doing something entirely different. It made her question her actions, what she really desired, although she knew that all too well.
A challenge, a match, a conquest for power that could never be quelled. These were the things which kept her steady, or at least as steady as she could manage whilst being ushered out of the building. When did this even happen? Who had suggested this? Her father? Of course not. Her mother most likely, always the sleuth when it came to meddling in her affairs, attempting to see how far she was willing to go or discover all of her secrets. This, however, was going somewhere she could no longer compel. Slowly but surely every thought was becoming more and more confusing.
‘A tour… yeah.’
Her steps were failing her, the normally confident stride as if prepared to leap into the air and take off at any moment had instead become a mess of crisscrossed strafes with her legs practically tripping over themselves with every step. If it weren’t for Jaffe she would have surely fallen on her face and no doubt falling down at this point would result in falling fast asleep, but she just had to see where this was going. It was the only reason she chose to continue on with this farce, wasn’t it? To see just what was happening here? The motivation, the drive of this person who so willingly proclaimed themself to be a friend as if the reward for doing so would come so easily!
How cocky. How bold! How absolutely and utterly tantalizing.
She could feel the sharp stutter behind her eyes, the slip of wanting to devour her prey whole with just the thought, but it was all so fuzzy it was difficult to maintain pace. The feeling of the fresh air hitting her face almost managed to rouse her and wake her from the drowsiness of this extremely drunken stupor, but the feeling of that same cool breeze flowing through her feathers acted as a midnight lullaby which drew her closer to the rest her body so desperately craved… then she felt her body being forced against the wall of her parent’s home. Her eyes perked up, the feeling of the woman’s hands measuring her form sending a delightful shiver up her spine. This was unexpected. Her eyes rested on her, the moon hitting her hair with a soft glow, the sight of her eyes under the shade of the night filling Gabi with a sense of something so familiar it was almost enough to wake her up. Simply seeing her lusting over her body in this way was absolutely adorable, almost reminding her of all the others.
‘I have an idea the first thing you can show me.’
Feeling her leg rise into the air, a show of this woman’s forceful strength. Sure she didn’t try to stop her, but it was necessary if this stalker meant to survive the experience. She was fast, skilled, quick enough to have her shirt ruined before she could even react and yet now she could feel the night air brushing against her skin. This was rather… intense. She couldn’t resist the urge to pull her in with her leg, dragging the woman closer to her while also making sure not to put too much force behind it. Injuring people in these types of situations wasn’t entirely a new thing, but there was still much to be discovered about this woman, but then she looked into her eyes once again.
‘I want to hear you sing, little bird.’
That’s it! The look I’ve been wanting to see, the one which is always so hard to find! That hunger, that craving, no mere lust or want. This is her pure desire!
There was no clarity, no instance of knowing if her mind was her own or if her body was flying on autopilot, but what was certain was that this was something she had now decided she desired. The drowsiness was completely gone and for the first time since ingesting that horrendous moonshine her thoughts were in alignment with her actions, both completely going far past her original plans, but then again she had stated what she desired earlier that night. Her worries of injuring her companion faded away as her leg tightened around her like a vice, her arms lifting up and sliding over her shoulders as her chest pressed against her prey’s, focus now solely on her eyes. The way they looked alongside her caramel skin was delicious, but not as delicious as the look which rested within them. She hadn’t even noticed her own eyes, now burning a bright red with a malicious hunger of their own, a thirst for this woman’s entire being.
‘Oh, you are a treat.’ She spoke as her nose brushed against Jaffe’s. ‘Let’s go somewhere more comfortable, temptress. I’ll have t’put your words to the test.’
Her wings opened up as if prepared to envelope the woman in darkness before slowly building up their momentum, the wingbeats echoing through the air as the lifted from the ground beneath their feet and glided above the large field. Her grip on the woman was strong, as if attempting to not allow her the luxury of escape as they coasted across the landscape. Passing over crops and barns alike, she instead chose to land out in the midst of the large grainfield itself, her wings flapping violently upon their decent, the sight of the grass and ears of wheat being pushed against the ground letting her know that her purpose had been fulfilled and the time to land was now.
She made certain to land softly, as if it really mattered when she pushed Jaffe away upon reaching the matted crops, just hard enough to knock her to the ground. ‘You say ya wanna hear me sing?’ She spoke as she examined her ruined shirt, smiling in a manner only someone titled a villainess could bear as she removed the article of clothing as well as the rest of her garments and tossing them aside. Her approach was now scarily steady, regal in nature although her mind was running on all cylinders. She had put every ounce of her remaining focus into not crashing into the ground on their way and now she could feel it, her actions running on nothing more than desires and alcohol. She looked down at this woman, curious, hungry, wanting a taste now more than ever. Her eyes the very emblem of her house as she leaned forward and crawled her way on top of this beautiful water fae. ‘Well then, little warrior, make your goddess sing.’
It was irresistible, impossible! Looking down at her from above like this with a desire to see what she was capable of, the potential of what might transpire as well as the overwhelming lust floating through the air. She almost wanted to toy with her mind, play with the canvas of her thoughts through the veil of madness and yet she had to resist. She had to see this with her own eyes. For now voicing her wants and taking her actions were clearer than anything else, although none of it was going the way she truly desired. By now she had expected to drag Jaffe directly into combat, but instead she found herself in this position, drawing closer until she could feel her fist clutching at the woman’s own shirt and ripping at the fabric, Gabi’s lips tracing hers as she sniffed for a sense of direction… still nothing but moonshine filling her nostrils, that and the strong scent of Naiick’s house. No matter, it had already gone this far and she was more than willing to go even further.
‘I’m expecting great things, temptress. Ah! But don’t let me break ya. It’s be rather disappointing if you failed me now.’

The water claimant had never felt so present in a moment. She had a history of dangerous daydreams, falling into her fantasies deeper than Alice into a rabbit hole. But this reality was much better than any daydream. Her vision blurred, her steps stumbling, she felt out of control for the first time in a long time. She never let herself get this drunk. It was that damned red stare... Those tantalizing eyes...
'You say ya wanna hear me sing?'
Jaffe Testua rolled onto her back when Gabi threw her to the ground, a laugh escaping her lips. Gabi was especially big from this angle, with her wings flared out behind her. She looked like a fallen angel. Jaffe's eyes grew wide in amazement, wondering if any person on any earth had ever seen something so glorious. This was something to write about. This was something to paint on a church ceiling. Some part of her wanted to tear hear own eyes out to make sure she never saw anything else again. No sight could ever outdo this one. Gahbriogyva stood tall and proud and completely naked, her skin practically glowing in all its alabaster glory in the light of the full moon. The stars were uninterrupted by light pollution this far out; the constellations sang her glories as if to prove she was heaven-sent. Jaffe's heart couldn't help but skip a beat. She knew what she had to do now. She could never allow another soul to get the pleasure of such a sight.
Gabi moved forward like a seductress, her body fluid and emanating pure lust as she crawled on top of Jaffe. Her eyes were mesmerizing - Jaffe the snake and Gabi the charmer. The water claimant couldn't look away if her life was on the line even though she knew those eyes held only pure madness.
‘Well then, little warrior, make your goddess sing. ‘I’m expecting great things, temptress. Ah! But don’t let me break ya. It’d be rather disappointing if you failed me now.’
Jaffe couldn't help but giggle at that: a light, girly giggle that she couldn't stop through the moonshine haze. She smashed her lips against Gabi's again before clamping on to the woman's bottom lip and not letting go until she tasted blood in her mouth. It was black and unlike even other Darkness claimants' but Jaffe excitedly licked it anyway. The trance was broken when Jaffe realized the position she was in. One, Gabi was on top of her. And two...she could never kill Gabi in an outright fight at the current level of power she was at, but she was supremely interested in finding out what it would take. But she supposed... she could deal with taking orders. Just this once. Because she was feeling especially generous. And she wouldn't want to kill Gabi right now, anyway. Not before she got to see how far this could go.
"What about a little screaming too?" Jaffe whispered, burying her hands in stark black hair and pulling the great terror Gahbriogyva closer with such ferocity one could swear they were disappearing into one another. Jaffe's tongue explored Gabi's mouth hungrily. She wouldn't notice until later, but this was the first time she had not immediately assessed how much she could sell someone's tongue for. That was very unlike her.
"Mmm," she found herself exclaiming. Blue eyes roved over Gabi's exposed skin as a starving woman looking at her first meal. "You're fffucking delicious," she slurred, the moonshine mixing with the drunkenness she felt off of Gabi's allure.
She couldn't help herself anymore. As one hand kept a firm grip on Gabi's head to keep their lips locked, the other disappeared into wings darker than nightmares and pulled out two feathers. Jaffe felt Gabi buck under her kiss after the action and decided to let her go to admire her prize. The blue-eyed water claimant held the plucked feathers between them with a devious grin on her lips as she parted them to run her tongue over the length of the feathers.
This reminded her of something. What was it? Jaffe's mind briefly superimposed over the image of Gabi that of another woman who looked similar to her, but with tears streaming down her cheeks and snot pouring out of her nose. She had been sobbing and begging and her cheeks were redder than red 40 now - much like Gabi looked in her drunkenness. Jaffe had not been swift with the woman. Blood poured over her hands, seeping into her nails as she slit the pale throat ear to ear. There was a lot of shaking. Jaffe couldn't stop herself from licking the blood off her hands and eventually drinking it straight from the source. Something about blood was more delicious than she could ever hope to explain. Certain houses tasted better than others but humans were a delightfully varied snack. The human woman Gabi reminded her of had made the most beautiful squelching and gurgling sounds, her blood like a dry wine as it slid down Jaffe's throat. Jaffe realized why she had thought back to this now - she wanted more of Gahbriogyva's deliciously sweet blood. She wanted to see that pale throat pouring out her glories.
Jaffe's body moved without needing any input from her. It was a struggle, wrestling with Gabi for dominance. Gabi was much stronger than Jaffe and significantly heavier than she looked. Maybe it was the wings that provided so much weight. Jaffe found herself completely enveloped in them. The wings cut off the outside world almost completely and allowed for them to be wrapped up alone together in their own domain. It was beautifully poetic. They rolled over and over in the moonlit field, limbs tangled in a mess of desire. The woman called Jaffe bided her time until she found herself on the bottom again and used the momentum to throw Gahbriogyva off of her and into the air. It was likely the only reason she had been able to surprise Gabi was because the darkness claimant had drowned herself in moonshine, but Jaffe did not waste the opportunity. Gabi caught herself, as expected, her great wings preventing her from falling onto the ground. Jaffe reached one long arm out and wrapped her fingers around Gabi's ankle before pulling her with all the force she could muster back to the ground. The force generated by Gabi colliding with the earth flattened even more of the poor crops they had already been destroying.
"My fallen angel," the brown-skinned Testua claimant moaned as she approached her prey, eyes low and movements languid. "I already know the answer, but I wanna to hear you say it." A laugh escaped her as she realized again how drunk she still was and how thick it made her tongue. "Do you like knives? I know you like your ssswordplay and fancy fancy dances, but do you - have you appreciated the humble knife? Magic show." Her lips pulled into a smile as she hid one hand behind the other, and when sliding the hidden hand, now held a push knife. The knife was one of two hidden in her hands and used for the occasional assassination, but tonight's purpose would be different. She had felt herself coming back into her abilities, the water rushing through her being, but still allowed herself to be drunk. It was fun. It felt like the first time. As she stood over Gabi now, she realized she had never been more intoxicated in her life. For all of her maladaptive daydreaming, she could not imagine a time that could ever be more fulfilling than this. Jaffe draped herself across her bruised partner, holding the knife between them for a moment to admire the way the blade shone in the moonlight. Then without warning she licked the blade as she had the feathers before, her blood a light blue as it spilled out of her mouth. It dripped past her lips and onto Gabi's chest, then shoulders, then lips, as Jaffe closed the distance to trap the angel in yet another hopelessly deep kiss. The pain was delirium-inducing but not unfamiliar. She relished every moment of it.

Her mind was a slurry of twisted thoughts and blurred images. Perhaps it wasn’t such a good idea to indulge herself in Gahbreal's moonshine as she had, but there was something about all of this which seemed so unfathomably… unnatural. Her heart was beating in paces she had not experienced in so long, but there was no battle to be had. Her hands were shaking ever so slightly and yet there was no fear behind them. Perhaps elation? Or maybe anticipation? Her mind paced backward, assessing the situation as one might do a battlefield and what she found was the same thought she had since cast away so quickly. It wasn’t just this enigma of a woman, she too had become embroiled in the sweet nectar of a word which seemed to haunt her mind like demons in the most desolate places hell could offer. And so, the word sounded off in her mind again the moment she heard Jaffe’s giggle.
Desire?
A question, but not a certainty? Why? An answer in the form of a kiss she did not expect. Her eyes went wide, a refusal to look away from this beauty lying before her. Just how long had it been since someone had snatched a kiss from her like this? Or rather… no one had ever stolen a kiss from her before at all! Her father would call it barbaric, her grandmother would call it indecent, her auntie would say it’s rushed, but her mother had always been the one she turned to for things like this. She understood it far better than anyone else, always telling her about the differences between flings and what truly mattered. That was when she felt herself sinking into an old memory.
“My sweet little angel. Your father will never tell you, he’s a very conservative man. Strong. Vigilant. Caring. But he’s afraid he’ll push you away. Trust that he will always love you, just as he loves me… Love comes in many form, my Gabi. But the love that matters the most is the one that makes you forget all your worries. I discovered how much I love your father after we fought together, so try not to view it in such a serious way. Alright?”
This couldn’t possibly be love, could it? That wouldn’t make any sense at all! How could she come to love someone after just meeting them? Her family would be correct. It is barbaric, rushed, indecent… but she could swear on the ancients that this was so relaxing. The sting on her bottom lip more soothing than painful, the taste reminiscent of a well-fought battle, but this was no fight right now. Perhaps that was why she relented her tension entirely, her eyes finally fluttering closed as this nymph tasted of her blood, her darkness, her madness.
“What about a little screaming too?” The words roused her eyes back to peering at her quarry, but she gasped upon being pulled even closer.
Gahbriogyva had never considered herself hopeless in any type of situation. In fact, she outright refused the idea and perished the thought whenever she could. But this woman, this claimant she’d have considered fodder merely moments prior, had pulled her hopelessly into something she could not escape. The feeling of her fingers amid the black ribbons of hair sending shocks through her mind, Jaffe’s tongue not only stirring her own, but also her thoughts along with it. These weren’t just things she was experiencing like this for the first time, but they were also drowning her in concepts she did not understand. The taste was utterly addictive. She wasn’t prepared to let anyone else have it.
“Mmm. You’re fffucking delicious.” The very comment made her smile, but the smile only lasted for so long. Her senses sharpened immediately upon feeling any form of touching on her plumage. Like hair it was both well maintained and sensitive; that’s why the involuntary squeak couldn’t be avoided when several of the feathers were extracted along with the jolt. That was the moment she was released, and she quickly inspected the damage while attempting to hold back tears.
It was a difficult struggle, but she managed to get away with only letting a select two fall before pursing her lips and brushing at the newly rustled feathers with a delicate touch of her fingers. In her head she was seething, but in her heart she was starving for the tongue which now experienced her in a way no one else had. Maybe it was the alcohol, but she was left wondering if perhaps her own feathers had some form of taste she didn’t know of. When she was younger the wings were so small they could be easily hidden and were barely noticeable. Once they began to grow, the feathers would fall out so often their family home would be covered in them, to the dismay of her mother. Now they were so well maintained the idea of licking them had never crossed her mind. Washing them was a chore and one she suffered through every single day, but did they taste exotic in some way? Or perhaps this exotic woman was just special.
It had ended up being a distraction, the thoughts which cluttered her mind until she could feel the blonde woman beneath her begin to struggle. Her ears twitched, red cheeks warming up as if her excitement could only rise from this moment. Conflict in any form a means to give her reason to persist, but it was clear that the amount of physical might she could impose on her wouldn’t be enough. Her wings closing in on them, her personal darkness now all around them. A darkness her eyes could see through clearly and that meant that now she could only look at Jaffe while laughing causually.
Her blonde hair like strands of light among the stark depth of the dark, her lips still holding onto traces of her blood, like a starving animal and yet she had no idea what exactly she was starving for. But the moment itself was cut short when she felt herself finally being pushed away in a manner she could not suppress so quickly. Her wings unfurling and scattering loose feathers across the sky, her eyes locked onto her moonlit form like coffee swirling with cream, or perhaps the swirling was just her own mind. Then, as if to signify the ferocity dormant within herself, Jaffe pulled her back down to the earth in a manner only Eric and Nier had done before… that was around the same moment she felt something shift within her mind.
"My fallen angel.I already know the answer, but I wanna to hear you say it. Do you like knives? I know you like your ssswordplay and fancy fancy dances, but do you - have you appreciated the humble knife? Magic show."
Her chest now pounding, her eyes widening, the turn around like a cry to her heart. Madness enveloping her in a way she did not know possible. Looking up at someone like this was a completely new experience. She steadied herself, focused herself, set her sights directly on Jaffe… and fell.
“Yeah. Make me appreciate it more.”
Those eyes. They blend so perfectly into the night sky, like stars dancing among the firmament. I could look at them like this forever… I can’t kill this one… I have to have her. I MUST have her… I’m destined to be a goddess. I am everyone’s goddess here to save them from themselves. But this little serpent. Jaffe. She will be mine. My own personal goddess.
The knife was nothing to fear and she’d been injured by worse things in the past, but watching as it caused liquid ecstasy to drip from the blue-eyed claimant’s mouth made her muscles tense. Once she felt it on her person, the warm source of life, it was almost enough to drive her insane. Once she felt it on her lips, tasted it on her own tongue, that momentum followed through. She wasn’t willing to let her get away now, wasn’t willing to go another moment without feeling Jaffe’s flesh against her own. Maybe she’d have attempted to convince herself it was to keep warm on such a cool night, but by now she knew it was all entirely lust, temptation, and madness. Madness she shared with every look into her eyes, every touch, every exchange of saliva and blood. But it wasn’t enough. She had already gone this deep. Now she just needed to drag her down with her.
Gahbriogyva turned her heard away, separating their lips before lifting her hands to cover her mouth. She felt as if she had been made a mess of, embarrassing on an entirely different level, but the words themselves had to be said. Even if she refused to look her in the eyes as she said them. “Wait. Lemme focus for a bit. I ain’t done this in a while, but I need it.” With a deep breath her eyes settled back on a Jaffe’s, red like demonic fire seeking to go past her gaze and tangle themselves directly around her mind. Then she spoke her mind, “I’m gonna have ya look at nothin’ but me.”
This wasn’t the same as before. Separating someone from their element wasn’t something she did so freely, that was why the initial use of that ability was done with expectation to take her life after she was done playing with her… but now she found herself making a different choice. The deep crimson, to envelope her in a waking dream, to black out the rest of the word and impair her perception until all that was left remained all that currently mattered. Just her and Jaffe. She had spent the majority of this time slowly filling her with more and more insatiable madness, and her very blood made it all the easier. Now, among the black sky and grass and the newly reddened and dimmed stars, she was entirely focused on Jaffe… and she would use this Crimson Dream to ensure the caramel claimant would see nothing but her.
“There. No more distractions, no more light, no more world. Just you and me,” she started as she reached for the knife. However, no doubt to Jaffe’s surprise, she didn’t take it. The palm of her hand pressed against the blade until she felt it pierce directly through. Gabi didn’t care at all to acknowledge the pain, and just as slowly freed her hand from the weapon. She began lifting the appendage dripping with liquid darkness until it pressed against the blonde’s cheek, and dragged it down her chest and to her waist. “I was wonderin’ why ya looked so starved before. I s’pose ya have the same tastes as my oldest relative.” She retracted her hand and placed it on her own face, dragging it across her mouth until it had been covered in a thick coat of black blood. “If you’re hungry, then eat. Think of it as a reward for your cute little efforts.”
She could feel Jaffe’s excitement, or perhaps it was merely her own as the kiss began once again. It was suffocating, but she couldn’t get nearly as much as she wanted. The possibilities which came with being beneath someone scurrying through her mind as she lapped up every drop of the her blue blood, her arms wrapping around her and yet it wasn't to reverse their positions. She wanted her closer, needed her closer, and so she pulled her closer. Gabi’s chest against her chest, her stomach against Jaffe’s, the warm yet sticky feeling of their blood intermingling as anticipation became hunger, hunger became starvation, and starvation became greater desire.
“Closer,” she demanded as her legs wrapped around her as well. Hands unguided, but exploring every part of Jaffe she could touch. In that very moment she felt she could drown in her, drift away in her essence, but it didn’t make nearly enough sense why she felt this way. So she opened her eyes again. Red jeweled gazing once again at this being who had managed to seduce her so flawlessly. She wanted to see more, but she didn’t want to let go.
A moment of pause, the luxury of her lips, and she remembered exactly what it was which made her reality possible. Her hands moving to Jaffe’s shoulders and her legs falling to the ground as she pushed the woman away. It wasn’t enough to send her reeling, but it was enough to have her now sitting on her own lap. She took a moment to look at her, admire her, every curve and crevasse. Every color and specific shade. She indulged in what she saw, watching as that shimmering blue dripped from her lips and down her chin. Her breathing hastened and her eyes flickered for a split second. The red which represented her madness struggling to remain as the blue which gave away her familial ties shone through only for a moment. And it was in that very same moment she let the words slip from her lips.
“You’re beautiful. More than that. Divine.” She lifted herself up so that her lips could meet her neck and intercept the blood she refused to let go to waste. The kisses littered Jaffe’s skin, then those kisses turned to bites, and the bites were coupled with words. “Ya got me here; beneath ya in a way you may never experience again. So follow through… no more singin', make me scream. If ya do a good enough job I might make those screams sound like your name.”
It was impossible to tell when she’d become sober enough to form sentences that didn’t make her sound like a farm girl. The words she wanted to use couldn’t be relied on if the alcohol was allowed to disrupt her speech, so she focused on that. She could still feel her mind tingling and could see the reflection of red in Jaffe’s eyes… Jaffe’s eye… the mere sight made her ears ring. A part of her had to admit just how embarrassing this felt and she could feel just how red her face had become. The heat alone on her ears made that clear. All she could do was make sure she collected every single drop of Testua blood on her tongue before pushing her tongue back into the water claimant’s mouth and pulling her with her as she fell back to the ground. Her mother had a tendency to say the most indecent things, but every once in a while she'd say something that made enough sense to have her think on it. And so she remembered something she felt was important. A key component she had made clear when speaking on how she and Gahbreal functioned as a couple.
"Your father is powerful. Possibly more powerful than anyone I've ever known. But power alone isn't everything, and your dad understands that well... sometimes, for the sake of true intimacy, you have to be willing to give in. Don't forget the importance of temperance. Your partner will love you more if you surrender yourself to them when they least expect it."
What a terrible influence...
She didn’t feel she needed to... but Gabi wanted to see where this would go if she gave in entirely. What might be accomplished? What might happen? So many new experiences, but what could she possibly experience when dropping her guard? This serpent which had manage to slither her way to her like this, the idea of what she might do was enough to inspire the unordinary. And so, her arms fell limp out at her sides atop her wings; muscles relaxing and mind easing. She was open, she was exposed, she was vulnerable of her own will. “Go on. I’m waitin', temptress,” the invitation was made. She could feel her heart racing, but her breathing was steady. Anticipation, elation, excitement… desire. It was all so muddled within the drunken haze. Next time she’d need to make sure she was sober to experience this…
Next time?

🇮 🇹🇭🇴🇺🇬🇭🇹 🇴🇫 🇦🇳🇬🇪🇱🇸 🇨🇭🇴🇰🇮🇳🇬 🇴🇳 🇹🇭🇪🇮🇷 🇭🇦🇱🇴🇸
Time passed in different ways here, trapped with Gahbriogyva. There was no painstakingly waiting for the minutes to pass by, there was no clock to watch, no ending to dread or look forward to. There was only she and Gabi and the deafening intimacy of the night.
Jaffe knew what Gabi was capable of because of how much time she spent studying the superstar, but she was not ready for what it felt like to have Crimson Dream used on her. Gahbriogyva was almost a peerless combatant. Jaffe knew if this woman wanted her dead, she would be. Knowing at any moment Gabi could decide to snap... brought unimaginable fire to her gut. It was also knowing that Gabi in fact hadn't snapped, but was enjoying herself more than she could hide, that made Jaffe feel like she couldn't handle how turned on she was getting. The time to need more than heavy touching was fast approaching. There was hardly a death wish more apparent than being involved with Gahbriogyva, the great terror of the already terrible house of Darkness; daughter of the monster Gahbreal and his unhinged wife Cyva; raised by more psychopaths than a child raised by wolves. Well, to be fair, she was raised by wolves. Jaffe was familiar with Gabi, yes, but only to an extent. For example, Jaffe assumed Gabi wasn't a virgin - there was no fucking way in hell this vixen had never been touched - but also had no idea who would or could have deflowered such a goddess. Part of her was jealous, if she was honest with herself. This view should belong to her alone.
It was all too beautiful. It was enough to make someone want to cry. Even on the way over, Jaffe had never suspected things would end up this way. Honestly, there had been a 60% chance she was going to be slaughtered at the door. Then there was a 70% chance Gabi would just decide to break her body or mind out of boredom once she was drunk. It was the most fun Jaffe had ever had gambling.
"Wait. Lemme focus for a bit." Gabi's words sent a flurry of excitement rushing through Jaffe's body. "I ain’t done this in a while, but I need it." The water claimant started lightly laughing at that - the noise was quickly stifled by locking eyes with Gabi. No, Gahbriogyva. This was Gahbriogyva. Eyes like burning rubies or hellfire or swords being struck to form their shape - Jaffe couldn't decide. It was overwhelming. "I’m gonna have ya look at nothin’ but me." The water claimant couldn't fight her on that. She couldn't look at anything else. Eyes wide, jaw slack, Jaffe Testua was mesmerized. There was nothing else to think about or see than Gabi. There was nothing else in the universe so terrifyingly divine. And it will all be mine.
Her mind could barely fathom what was happening. The sounds of the night slowly slipped away until they were choked out completely. Even the stars dimmed in the sky. The only thing to see, hear, smell, feel was Gabi. Jaffe could hardly ask for it to be any other way. The water claimant wasn't familiar with the feeling coursing through her veins and there weren't many feelings Jaffe Testua was not familiar with. She could feel something changing within her.... Like something was breaking away from the rest. What it was, she couldn't put a finger on. As Gabi reached for the knife Jaffe couldn't help but follow every movement with her eyes as if at any moment Gabi could leave. It felt clingy and therefore foreign in an almost-uncomfortable mostly-giddy manner. She envied the knife for managing to become closer to the darkness claimant than she was.
Blood flowed between them like warm ambrosia. It poured from Jaffe's mouth and Gabi's hands and met halfway somewhere in a compromise, mixing and swirling into each other like taking direction from the women themselves. Black overtook blue as if art meant to imitate life. Gabi was sweet and heady... Jaffe felt herself becoming intoxicated all over again. If Jaffe was honest with herself, Gabi was right: the darker-skinned woman was absolutely famished. She nearly had to sit on her hands just to keep from tackling Gabi as soon as black started seeping out of her.
"If you’re hungry, then eat. Think of it as a reward for your cute little efforts."
Jaffe Testua did not have to be told twice. She leapt onto Gabi like a vulture on prey, lapping up everything she had access to on the woman whether it was spit or skin or blood. If the presence of the liquids made Gahbriogyva dirty, Jaffe's hungry tongue made sure she was licked clean. Suddenly she felt impossibly insatiable. No matter how much of Gabi there was in her mouth, there was never enough...
🇬🇪🇹 🇹🇭🇪🇲 🇩🇷🇺🇳🇰 🇴🇳 🇷🇴🇸🇪 🇼🇦🇹🇪🇷
Jaffe couldn't tell how long they stayed like that, with her sat on Gabi's lap, languishing the feeling of lips roving over her skin as her mind spun. This was something separate from the drunkenness she'd been feeling. Gabi's lips only felt softer as the kisses grew deeper before morphing into bites. That first nip on her neck made sure Jaffe knew no one had ever made her feel this way before. Part of the woman wanted to make the moment stretch forever but the greater part was impatient to see how long she could make Gabi beg to finish.
She was getting ahead of herself now. The former soccer player brought herself back down to earth by closing her eyes as hard as she could and opening them again. Still, she could form no thoughts that weren't littered with Gahbriogyva. She could see nothing that was not Gahbriogyva. It was as she had thought before: there was nothing in their domain but each other.
I love you.
Jaffe almost slapped herself. The words appeared like an intruder in her mind, which had already been feeling different. It was as if Gabi's fingers themselves were inside her mind, holding and dissecting her brain as if trying to figure out what to make of it. She felt more naked than she felt a person could. She was fully exposed to Gabi in a way she hadn't even been with herself.
"Ya got me here; beneath ya in a way you may never experience again. So follow through… no more singin', make me scream." A better invitation could not be expressed if it were written among the galaxies. "If ya do a good enough job I might make those screams sound like your name." Every other word was accentuated with a kiss. Gabi had to know the effect she was having; she seemed supremely pleased with herself. If it weren't for the faint smell of alcohol on her breath no one would be able to tell Gabi was under the influence and she would just appear like the corrupted succubus she was.
🇸🇪🇪 🇭🇴🇼 🇩🇮🇷🇹🇾 🇮 🇨🇦🇳 🇬🇪🇹 🇹🇭🇪🇲, 🇵🇺🇱🇱🇮🇳🇬 🇴🇺🇹 🇹🇭🇪🇮🇷 🇫🇷🇦🇬🇮🇱🇪 🇹🇪🇪🇹🇭
"I know what you are," Jaffe giggled, her voice sing-song as she watched Gabi relax below her. A devil. She had been watching the darkness claimant for an inordinate amount of time... but never... had she seen Gahbriogyva relax. Perhaps this was something she was the only person alive or dead to witness. Heat flooded her cheeks - and less savory places - as she watched what awaited her. Long limbs, skin smoother and paler than any pearl, hair as dark as a tumultuous sea, and eyes unable to decide if they wanted to drown their target in madness or lust. It was enough to make Jaffe Testua cry. For perhaps the first time in her life, she was speechless.
“Go on. I’m waitin', temptress."
Gabi's words reached Jaffe's ears like a spell and the water claimant was happily bewitched from then on. She collapsed onto her prey, as she had decided she absolutely could not wait anymore. Her tongue trailed blue across a stark white canvas as she left her mark; the blue and black eventually being underlined by delicious, soft red. It was an exciting dance to determine what motions left which marks. A bruise here, bite marks there... To call it erotic would be an understatement. To call it seductive would be an injustice. Jaffe couldn't put her finger on the words, her mind briefly traversing the dictionary of the ancient tongue to see if they had better words.
The media mogul was taller than her, yes, but Jaffe was tall herself and used both to her advantage. As she left a trail down her conquest's body in the form of bloody, bruised flowers, she made sure not to waste a moment memorizing the finest parts of the mighty claimant who lay beneath her, open and vulnerable for all the world to see. How fitting it was that they were the only ones in their world.
"For the next act," Jaffe began, voice low and sultry and still tinged with lingering moonshine, "I will give you your cues." Jaffe briefly abandoned her post between Gabi's thighs to be able to look her in the eye. Their eyes almost mirrored each other: blue, ringed with the blood of madness. The left hand that had been so busy caressing lower finally made its way up to Gabi's throat, then further when it clasped her chin, and further still when two fingers disappeared into the pale angel's mouth. "So shut up." A grin broke her serious demeanor. "Pay attention. I'm going to teach you something new about yourself, little bird. Know what it is?" She smiled again as she broke their impossibly tense eye contact to push Gabi's head to the side, ever so gently, and expose her ear. Jaffe could barely contain herself to finish speaking before acting. "That you can listen. That you love to follow commands. Think of it as a reward for your cute little efforts."
It was done. As far as Jaffe Testua was concerned, she had sold her soul to the devil and would not be looking for it back.
🇦🇳🇩 🇨🇱🇮🇵 🇹🇭🇪🇮🇷 🇹🇮🇳🇾 🇼🇮🇳🇬🇸
The sun was beginning to peek over the horizon. The sky lit up ever so slowly but the montage of watching it rise was not half as beautiful as the view of Gahbriogyva flustered and confused. Jaffe couldn't tell at what point the outside world began seeping into their dreamscape. It almost felt like a betrayal to be interrupted in such a way. There was still more she wanted from Gabi... but she supposed it had to end sometime. After all, she had originally come to the house with intentions other than to literally roll in the hay, though she could hardly remember what they were after the night she'd had. Her mind felt scrambled though it was unknown if that was from the darkness claimant or her father's moonshine.
Back to work.
The caramel-skinned woman rolled her eyes to herself. Laying on Gabi's wings felt oddly intimate for some reason in comparison to their night together. Jaffe half wondered if it hurt her... she had noticed the yelp when two of the feathers were pulled out the night previous. Nevertheless, she propped herself up on one of her elbows so that she could gaze upon the fallen angel once more. One last look... She wished there was a way to take a picture that could capture the moment exactly as it was in her eyes.
A long arm reached over to capture ribbons of dark locks, gently twisting them around lithe fingers. "I guess the fun has to end sometime... I have a business proposition for you." She untangled her fingers from the black hair they had been enveloped in to place them over Gabi's mouth in a shushing motion. "And before you say no, you're going to say yes, because I'm going to get you Ballafex."

With the ending of the night came a breaking dawn she absolutely hated to see. A part of her found this as a good distraction. Being capable of completing her mother’s request of visiting in the first place, but also having taken this random visitor as an opportunity to slip away without a single question asked. It gave her the chance she needed to make the space between herself and her father she so desperately wanted… but there were so many holes and gaps. From drinking Gahbreal’s mostly illegal alcohol to spending the night with this woman, Gabi’s entire plan had become full of so many unexpected turns, and what had to be the worst part about it all was how this woman had managed to actually have her enjoy herself. And as she pursed her lips, with each memory poking and prodding at the back of her mind, it disturbed her more and more to realize just how much she did enjoy herself.
She did not lift herself from the ground. Not even enough to check whether or not they had even managed to get back into their clothes at any point, but that was a different matter. Her eyes squinted, a slight groan as her chest rose and fell with each measured breath. She could still taste that foul stain of moonshine on her tongue, and yet it was also accompanied by something sweeter. She pouted to herself, questioning whether or not she she take this woman and scatter her bones across the farm for coyotes and varmints to feed on. Then she remembered the taste of blood and the sensation of the night. Her muscles relaxed and her heart slowed to a moderate thrum. Perhaps it would be best to get rid of her, but what a terrible waste of such cute bones that would be…
What the hell is wrong with me? Who cares about the quality of bones now? Bones beneath such soft skin... What does matter is how much she is obviously going to be trouble.
She could not put aside the thought that their initial meeting started with her attempting to do… whatever she was trying to do outside of her parent’s home. And while she doubted her father would be caught in a state of unawares, her mother was an entirely different story. Several things had to be considered. Among those things being this woman's true intentions for coming here specifically.
She could feel the weight of Jaffe’s body shift on her wing, an action she had to consider carefully as there was already a price to be paid for being allowed such a luxury as to use her feathers for a bed. A part of her felt that it would outright be the best option to splatter her body on the nearest stone and call Mist to have her clean it up. Then she considered torture. For that it would probably be best to get her uncle. Hellfire was many things, but always very reliable as a quality torturer. There was also the option of tying her up and questioning the woman herself, but dealing with water claimants was always a hassle. Especially when she had no idea how she’d utilize her element to somehow escape through the smallest hole or crack in some way.
This was all too much to think about so early in the morning, and her head was doing her no services in that regard. She thought for a moment to just lift her fist and bring it down on her with every ounce of her might, but that would both alert her parents to their presence out there and likely break her wing in the process. She should have just used madness and turned her brain into a paste of scrambled and malformed memories, but now that would take time to even set up. However, most troubling of all was how a part of her did not want this woman to forget. She wanted the blonde to remember. To have the images stuck in her mind as if, by some twisted fate, lasting as an ever present reminder of how nothing would ever truly measure up to what she had been allowed to experience again. Allowed. Such a funny word, as if she herself were fully in control of her actions. Guided by lust and alcohol. But beyond lust there was a terrifying word which continued to bring itself up... Desire.
“I guess the fun has to end sometime… I have a business proposition for you.” Jaffe’s words caused her eyes to turn downward from the sky. Clearly she was more hungover than expected, having just noticed her hair between brown sugar fingers. That or she had undersold the Testua's skills in some way. However, they only lasted there for a moment before moving to place themselves over her lips. Not in a way she’d call sensual, but rather as if giving her some form of order to remain silent?!
You may be pretty, and I mean very pretty, but that doesn’t mean I won’t break your fucking neck… But damn you’re nice to look at, even though you smell terrible… But I suppose that’s okay when you’re this cute… what the fuck am I thinking?!
Her thoughts were well and clearly scrambled. The night had certainly done a number on her, but that didn’t mean a damn thing at the end of the day. Only a select few people were ever going to have the right or courtesy of telling her what to do without eventually facing the most deadly demise she could imagine. And for this one, in this very moment, she could only imagine crushing her skull between her fingers. It didn’t matter if they were claimants or ancients, it was all the same. If you weren’t invincible it meant every action against her was a lasting mistake spelling your eventual demise by her hands, measured only by her own willingness to forgo causing too much damage to her surroundings or her family’s reputation. Two things this woman’s life wouldn’t impact at all.
Perhaps it was fate, or maybe even Echowix doing her best to interfere in some way she could not comprehend, but just as she had managed to sneak her hand close enough to Jaffe’s neck to crush her jaw into shards of bone… “And before you say no, you’re going to say yes, because I’m going to get you Ballafex.”
“Wait. What?” Fingers moments away from hostility instead just gripped her jaw as she would a misbehaving child. By now she was confused. Interested! But confused nonetheless. She lifted herself to a sitting position and brought Jaffe with her, just for the sake of having a face to look directly into as she spoke. “I may have been intoxicated before, but that doesn't make me oblivious. You come out of nowhere, but claim to have the means to get me to someone I’ve been looking for? Flori doesn’t tell anyone where Ballafex is. So how would you have found him?”
She looked at her for a moment. Close enough to almost touch as if making sure the slightest discrepancy couldn’t be spotted in her eyes, but that proved to be a mistake. All that did was flood her mind with memories of the night prior. Then she looked at Jaffe before looking at herself and, of course, both of them were still as underdressed as they had been the night prior. As if to simply add insult to injury. That was the moment she chose to release her. Instead using the fingers as a means to cover her own mouth as her wings did a proper job of covering herself up. Her eyes looked away, taking the etiquette her mother and grandmother forced on her into account. Perhaps it would be best to refrain from drinking around Jaffe, or at least that was what she thought. It was far too distracting to look directly at her now.
“Maybe… it would be best if we get situated first. Go to the house, get a new set of clothing, and bathe. Besides, you smell like chickens and we were nowhere near the chickens.” Why does she smell like that? Like she’s been skulking around the farm all day? “Then we can talk about this somewhere else over breakfast. For now I can say I’m interested, but there are many ears around this house and I will need to know more before I make any agreements. We can go to a restaurant and talk through this like adults.”
So she said, but that would be just about the only adult thing about any of this. At the end of the day this had managed to become a job, which could be seen as good or bad depending on who was asking. Either way, the last thing she needed was Gahbreal overhearing them at all. While she had a sense of smell rivaling that of the most bloodthirsty creatures, it was her father who always seemed to hear every conversation which took place anywhere near his property.
"And that knife better have been clean. I'll tear your arms off if I find out that knife was some dingy fucking kitchen knife."

It was almost poetic, how Gahbriogyva Dimea was unknowingly wrapped around a no-name water claimant's finger. The winged beast didn't even know it - but that was the best part. This was Jaffe's favorite part about gambling: the payoff. The adrenaline rush achieved when it all finally came together rivaled sex. She could feel the intensity radiating off of Gabi's person in waves, could see the cogs whirring in the machine in a desperate attempt to try to figure out what the right move was. It was the most interesting movie on earth.
"Wait. What?" Gabi's hand at her jaw suddenly gripped the water claimant tightly, Jaffe's brows shooting up in light surprise. It was a little harder than she had anticipated. Pain set in as a dull ache where Gabi's fingers dug into the skin. Jaffe didn't bother to pull at the pale hands controlling her or otherwise fight - now was not the time to fight. Now was the time to make Gabi feel strong, make her feel needed... And not get killed along the way. There were oh, so many ways Gabi could kill her. To make matters more interesting, even if the woman of darkness's family didn't help her, the house staff certainly would. "I may have been intoxicated before, but that doesn't make me oblivious. You come out of nowhere, but claim to have the means to get me to someone I’ve been looking for? Flori doesn’t tell anyone where Ballafex is. So how would you have found him?"
Despite the strong hand pulling her about, Jaffe Testua managed to crack half a grin through it. She had piqued Gabi's interest. This deal was as good as done. Gabi's eyes searched her own, obviously trying to discern if she was being lied to. There would be nothing in Jaffe's eyes to indicate anything of the sort. In fact, the only thing Gabi would be able to see was a burning lust and perhaps a tinge of recklessness. The unmistakable look of someone whose existence was driven by desire and want and nothing more substantial.
Finally, the black-haired beauty released her. Jaffe took a moment to massage her jaw but could not keep the self-satisfied smirk away from her lips. "What kind of business partner would I be if I didn't come bearing gifts?" No, that was more of a Gideon thing to do. That idiot would have already been slaughtered and scattered to the four corners of the mortal realm if he were in her position. "It doesn't really matter how I found him, does it? Don't make me bore you with the details."
It was as if something clicked in Gabi's head. The pale woman suddenly gathered her wings around herself as if embarrassed to be in the situation she was in. Jaffe couldn't help but pout a little - she had enjoyed being able to see everything Gabi had to offer with sober eyes. If she were honest with herself, she was trying to burn the image into her mind because she wasn't sure when she'd get such an opportunity again.
"Maybe…" the embarrassed archon of darkness began, "it would be best if we get situated first. Go to the house, get a new set of clothing, and bathe. Besides, you smell like chickens and we were nowhere near the chickens." Jaffe decided not to respond to that, instead slightly raising an eyebrow to convey confusion as to why Gabi would mention such a thing. Now would not be the time to reveal exactly how she had gotten here. "Then we can talk about this somewhere else over breakfast. For now I can say I’m interested, but there are many ears around this house and I will need to know more before I make any agreements. We can go to a restaurant and talk through this like adults."
"Aw, are you hungry and hungover after a long night, little bird?" Jaffe cooed softly, approaching the red-tinged darkness claimant and touching her cheek lightly. "Let's go get you a Danish or something."
"And that knife better have been clean. I'll tear your arms off if I find out that knife was some dingy fucking kitchen knife."
"Maybe two Danishes for that attitude."

Jaffe's clothes were in tatters. There was nothing to even use to gather about herself to make herself more presentable... Gabi could cover herself with her wings; there was no such luxury for the water claimant.
The caramel-skinned woman stood outside the farmhouse for a moment to try to decide what to do. She didn't want Gahbreal to see her so disheveled - he seemed a much more conservative man than his freak of a wife. He was liable to never make eye contact with her again if he saw her in such a state. She quite liked seeing the slightly restrained look of bloodlust he carried. It was obvious that was where Gabi got it from.
Speaking of, the superstar had left Jaffe to her own devices as to how to get into the house. Jaffe couldn't figure out if Gabi had flown up to her room or had one of her servants sneak her in, but it didn't matter. Jaffe already knew what she was going to do. As she made the determination, her form burst into a plume of mist and was seemingly swept away with the light morning breeze; however, that was not the case. Jaffe redirected herself through the small space between the farmhouse's front door and the threshold. Getting to Gahbriogyva's room was easy but the water claimant still wanted to explore more of the house first. The servants were already awake despite the sun pretty much just waking up. There was no sign of Gahbreal and Cyva. Jaffe considered going to search for them, finally getting a peek into that master bedroom... Oh, the very thought could've made her salivate. But she didn't want to risk giving herself away just yet. Instead, Jaffe opted for the safer route. She disappeared into the drain of a kitchen sink one of the more familiar servants - perhaps it was Mist? - was running. From there was easy. Gabi was running the shower in her room with enough steam and hot water for it to be mistaken for a sauna. It felt like a perfect opportunity.
Jaffe came into form made out of wisps of steam at the outset before the water pooled at the shower drain reversed its course out of the drain and came to join in making her whole. A wave of black rushed down the drain as Gabi washed the blood off of herself. It brought flashbacks to the stalker. Last night had been... well, more than a dream. It was a true fantasy come true. There was no daydream that would ever be better or even begin to compare. She had never had the opportunity to see Gabi shower before. This almost made her nervous but the nerves could do nothing to dampen her insatiable lust.
"My, my, are you putting on a show for me?" The voice of the Testua woman bounced off of the walls despite her body not being fully formed yet. When she was complete, long caramel arms wrapped around Gahbriogyva's midsection from behind. To be honest, there was a part of the malevolent stalker that wished this could just be a normal moment of intimacy. She knew that would never be the case with Gabi, though. "What's there to talk about? You know you want Ballafex. I know you want Ballafex. Let's just settle on one more round before we have to put on our work hats, huh, angel? I find morning sex always leads to more favorable business deals. Then I'll take you for a Danish from Butter Doll's."

“Mist.” Her voice made the woman jump as her eyes lifted from her book. Or less than a book and more like a series of files.
“Gabi. You were gone all night,” she responded as she placed the book down and stood to straighten her clothes. “I would have quit if you left me here without notice.”
“Oh please. As if I’d let you quit… Where are my mother and father?”
“They were up late watching movies, but when the sun started rising they disappeared into their room. It has been quiet ever since.”
“Well, either mother has dad ensnared or they left without saying anything. Come on, I’m going to take a shower. You will prepare an outfit for when I’m done. Something comfortable, not flashy.”
“Casual wear?” Mist asked while following Gabi up the stairs. A part of her felt she was far too comfortable around her employer while she was nude, but another more vast part of her could not be bothered to question it or care. Her focus was entirely on wondering what else would be asked of her before she could just do her job in peace. “I’ll skim through your wardrobe and find something worthwhile.”
“Good. And call Lizbett. We’ll be leaving soon.”
“Heading back home?”
“No. Going out for breakfast. She’ll bring you home. I’ll be going somewhere else.”
“You’re going to drive?!” Mist’s question gained her a sharp glare. Gabi was more than aware that many of her employees questioned her driving capabilities, but that was mainly due to none of them having seen her drive other than Lizbett.
“Shut up and call her, unless you want to act as my driver for the day.”
“Fine. And what vehicle would you like me to have her bring for you?”
“None. She’s only coming to get you.” She started while stepping into the bathroom and turning to give her final orders. “There’s a gray truck around the back; I’m sure you noticed. It’s mine. I’ll be using that.”
“That dirty thing? I can wash it if you want.” She looked disgusted to even recall it.
“Look, I don’t care. That thing carried me back and forth through high-school. Not to mention how I had to use it to pick up feed and take the farm animals to the vet. I cleaned it after the last time I used it, but that doesn’t mean my mother hasn’t used it herself, although she prefers dad's motorcycle.”
“Well, I’ll clean it after I choose an outfit for you and before I leave. The last thing we need is anyone seeing you riding around in filth.”
“Do what you want. Now leave me be. I need a shower.”
The familiar squeak which accompanied the twisting of the ceramic handle only managed to fill her mind with memories. How clear she could see her mother and father struggling to make her sit still in the bath when she was smaller; how vividly she could recall the endless energy and constant excitement at the cost of her father’s peace and the blessing of her mother’s smile. Sometimes she hated how well she could remember it. The feeling of the cold water from the shower head pouring over her body and soaking her wings acting as a means to distract her, while the steady transition to scorching heat and steam acting as a means to wash away both the dark blood just as it did her will to remember.
Her focus now was entirely on herself. Her fingers searched her body for any standout wounds, but there wasn’t anything lasting or making an impact. Still, she could recall the fuzzy memories from the night before even clearer now that her mind was well awake. Her wings swaying slowly before she turned and positioned them to be directly under the water. Despite what other might know, the sensitivity of the black limbs were well warranted. She could feel each feather separately, and because of that it was especially easy to remember when one was removed from its place. Perhaps that was why Jaffe was suddenly on her mind… or perhaps the caramel claimant had simply never left it.
She closed her eyes, attempting to imagine the moment she snaps the woman in half for doing something so undeniably dreadful as lucking her feathers. Every finger broken, all vertebrae collected, her skull displayed within her room of trophies… and yet within the darkness behind her eyelids, she could see nothing more than the blonde’s devious smile. So few existences could be so bold, and yet this one found her. She pressed her fingers against her lips. Traced them from one side to the other. Now she found herself once again recalling the night yet with less fluster. She was calm, she was relaxed, and now her mind was in a different place entirely.
She has potential, although she’s clearly shady. Very light, exceptionally fragile, like freshly baked bread. In the right dress she’d be a proper ornament… but she clearly wants to be more. A desire to dominate. A cute desire, but a desire nonetheless. Or perhaps I'm mistaken.
Her thoughts paused for a moment, her brow furrowing as the scent of her favorite soap and shampoo was now mixed with something else. On any other day she’d have written it off and continued with her shower. However, it was recently familiar. The scent of Testua. A split second of anger, her hands almost preparing to do as they had been trained to do all her life, but she consciously held herself back.
Just how often do people do this? I mean, Lizbett tries to sneak up on me even when she knows it’s not possible, but we’ve been close for years. How often do people I’ve just met make moves on me like this? I could kill her. Maybe I will if she tries to attack, but I’d like to see where this goes.
“My, my, are you putting on a show for me?”
“Don’t flatter yourself. That would cost you more than you’re worth.” Although she’d never admit it, a small smile formed on her face upon feeling the woman’s touch.
A part of her was irritated after having spent what time she did getting the woman’s scent off of her. Yet in that same respect it was drawing her in so casually. Experiences like these never presented themselves, and she wanted to see just how far Jaffe was willing to take this aggressive approach. A flawless invasion of privacy, a direct touch as if there was no need to fear. So few had the nerves. It was interesting to say the very least. Were these not the types of things people only did when they knew one another? Yet here they were, and she knew nothing about this woman... but it felt so natural. Frighteningly so. Her instincts were crying out with violence and devastation, but another part of her was more than welcoming. A part she did not understand.
“What’s there to talk about? You know you want Ballafex. I know you want Ballafex. Let’s just settle on one more round before we have to put on our work hats, huh, angel? I find morning sex always leads to more favorable deals. Then I’ll take you for a Danish from Butter Doll’s.”
“Oh? You seem very sure of yourself. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think you believe you own me.”
At times like this she was pleased with her mother’s foresight. Both the shower and bath were large. Large enough to accommodate multiple people, but that was mainly due to compensating for her wingspan. It gave her more than enough space to turn around without struggle and face Jaffe directly. Somehow it was even better in comparison to the night before. The way the water on her brown skin glistened beneath the dim light, her eyes like icicles in contrast to her own red gems.
Gabi raised her head slightly, moving the unruly black strands of hair behind her ears before placing a hand on Jaffe’s chest and pushing her back against the wall. It wasn’t anything too forceful, not when she didn’t want to cause a commotion this early in the morning, but it was enough to move her where she wanted her to be. Her hand reversed, palm up as it slid up her neck and to her chin to raise Jaffe's own head. If she was going to look at her she’d look directly at her. Her eyes examined her for several seconds before she filled the woman’s hair with her favorite shampoo and quickly scrubbed the honey and vanilla scented mixture into a fine lather.
“Clean yourself up first before you ask me for anything. Besides, I won’t tolerate anything so undignified when my nosy parents could easily be right around the corner. Have at least a shred of class.” Her words were sharp, decisive and without concern for Jaffe’s opinion… and yet she followed them up with the oddest of actions. Leaning forward for a kiss. Nothing forceful or aggressive. Just a typical exchange, no longer than three seconds. “And if you want a reward, earn it first.”
That should be more than enough to quell these thoughts… hopefully. I’d rather not be distracted all day.
The justification for her actions as she exited the shower and dried herself off as best she could. To her surprise, however, Mist was still standing around with the same distinctly unpleased look on her face. “You’re still here?”
“What do you mean you’re still here? You just took a fucking shower, and I’m considerate enough to remember how difficult it is for you try dry your own wings when you aren’t at home.”
“Well, how… thoughtful of you?”
“Just turn around and let me do this so I can go. I have to give everyone their new schedules today, so I’ll be working late. Not to mention no one with a functioning brain was left at the mansion, and Sharoleen was left in charge. I’m sure it’s been chaos.” She spoke as she retrieved the towel and began carefully drying the pale claimant’s wings. Anyone could tell she was experienced at the task, her movements quickly yet accurately gentle. As if a single mistake could cost her several lives. “So, the Testua.”
“The Testua?”
“You like her, don’t you?”
“She might have some interesting information for me regarding my favorite hobby. Other than that I know nothing about her. She seems fragile, but reminds me of Nier… or maybe auntie.”
“She reminds you of assassins and murderers?”
“When you say it like that it almost sounds like a bad thing.”
“Well I enjoy living a normal life, so for me it is a bad thing. It only means the likelihood of me working with them in the future increases,” she paused as she folded the towel and placed it down. “Done. Try not to get into trouble. There’s only so much Eva can do for you.”
“You talk like I plan to kill someone.”
The Testua maid looked at her for a moment, eyes almost entirely dead as her expression remained stagnant for several seconds. Then she merely turned away and exited the room, leaving her with a simple, “you’ll have to do something with your wings. None of your jackets would compensate, so you’re on your own for that.”
Gabi sighed, remembering the difference between her clothes at home and the ones remaining in her room. It was easy to just make feathers a part of her expensive outfits, but with outfits like the ones she had at home it would mean she’d need to hide her wings like her mother forced her to as a child as a child. A lesson in self-control she'd call it. It took several seconds of focus as the wings themselves rustled and the feathers seemed strained, but moments later they all seemed to transition from physical flesh to mist and shadows before slowly retracting into her back. The process was uncomfortable, and the feeling of them being present yet absent was even more uncomfortable, but at least she could move around freely.
The outfit was simple enough, Mist having decided for sporty underwear. No doubt believing she’d be doing something along the lines of fighting. Black denim jeans, tight fitting, and a standard brown leather belt. One of her old favorite t-shirts featuring the title of the band Fallout Boy she was into in high-school, and of course still enjoyed, cut off a few inches above the bellybutton. A black denim baseball cap with a large “G” stitched directly above the brim - courtesy of her mother - and a pair of brown leather fingerless driving gloves. Last but not least was the black leather jacket with several pins and patches from biker gangs to bands, extremely reminiscent of the denim jacket Gahbreal wore, and her brown steel-toed boots which looked as if they had seen enough mileage to cross and entire country while still remaining perfectly clean.
“Well, at least Mist has a good sense of standard fashion. Guess I shouldn’t downplay the girl I met at a rock concert.”
As quickly as she put on the clothes she grabbed all her essentials and descended the stairs. She enjoyed the nostalgia of her family home, but not nearly as much as she enjoyed leaving it. There were far too many things in these walls which pissed her off, and as she reached the main entrances and opened the desk next to the door one of those things made itself know. The sound of crunching filling her ears from across the room as she turned to see her father slowly eating several slices of toast while staring it her with a suspiciously red look. One of the only beings alive who could be so close yet remain undetected by her nose.
“I'm surprised you still can’t handle a drink. At least you didn’t wander into town last night.”
“As if you knew where I was,” she responded while reaching into the desk and retrieving a pair of gold aviators to place over her eyes.
“Leaving already?”
“Do I have a reason to stay?” She asked while retrieving the keys to her truck and shoving them into her jacket pocket.
“I’d say you should wait for your mother to wake up at least, but I doubt she’ll be awake for another few hours. I’ll tell her you said bye. She said you two probably went to look at the baby animals last night, so I’ll assume they’re all well fed.”
“Isn’t that your job? But I suppose assumptions are all you're good for.” She responded while reaching into the desk and pulling out one of the two triple barrel shotguns. A check to make sure each barrel had a shell of its own before grabbing and tucking twelve more into her jacket pockets. Then, while placing the firearm over her shoulder, she slammed the desk shut. “You better be glad I like my pets, or I’d let those fucking things die.”
“Noted… you’re not going to kill the girl are you?”
“What? No I’m not going to kill the girl! The hell! I’m going, tell her to meet me by the truck when she’s done if she even uses the front door or cares to talk to you. I don’t have time for this.”
There wasn’t even a moment to exchange anymore words or give any type of goodbye before she stormed out of the building and slammed the door behind herself. The speed at which her mood could nosedive as spectacular as always; her partial smile now returned to the aggressively straight face she was known for around the world. The very expression of beauty within anger. Cooling her head would normally be as simple as placing the feed within each of the animal’s feeding stations and watching as they approached and munched on their respective favorites. However, this time around they seemed to pick up on her mood and remain a respectable distance until she had chosen to leave… All that did was make her mood worse.
The shotgun resting on her shoulder, her steps quickly making their way across the field and behind the home, she was at least pleasantly surprised to find that Mist had actually cleaned her truck. No doubt it had been put to use in her absence if she found that it needed the care. Gabi quickly opened the door and placed the weapon into the slot on the driver side door before sliding the key into the ignition and turning it to hear the engine start in its normal hefty manner. She could vividly remember all the specifications she wanted for the vehicle after deciding on a Tacoma in the first place, but it was mainly for transporting baby cows at the end of the day. That still didn't mean she wanted anything with less power than what she'd need to drag a large corpse around if she needed to... or run down an unruly claimant. Now she was here waiting for Jaffe; hopefully also getting her hands on a mark she’d been searching for. The thought of having Ballafex's bones in her home was almost enough to brighten her mood.
“Maybe if she does a good job I’ll come up with some reward for her. She could become one of the maids,” Gabi thought aloud as she retrieved a pack of cigarettes from her pocket and placed one between her lips. “Maybe not.”

ᴀʟʟ ᴍʏ ʟɪꜰᴇ, ɪ'ᴠᴇ ᴡᴀɴᴛᴇᴅ ᴛʜɪꜱ
She knew it was selfish but still couldn't stop herself from trying. There really wasn't any need or benefit from continuing to goad the Dimea woman. In fact, it was more playing with fire than not. She had seen it with her own two eyes, the way Gahbriogyva could suddenly snap. Though, in her opinion, it wasn't so sudden if you knew what to look for. Jaffe knew the thought of killing her was flush on Gabi's mind. Jaffe did not fear the prospect of death as much she was annoyed by it - too much to do, too much money left to make. She had no room in her schedule or plans for death. She also knew it would be foolishly stupid not to be at least a little afraid of Gabi, though she would never acknowledge or admit it. Jaffe didn't have to wonder why Gabi pretended to be familiar with her the night prior, unintentionally going along with the ruse. She knew it was pure curiosity. There was something about Jaffe that captivated her, otherwise the Testua would have been instantly slaughtered and everyone would have just gone on with their meal as if it hadn't happened at all. She knew that. She was sure Gabi knew it as well. It was a precarious line that the darker-skinned woman walked. It was also one of her favorite places to be. "Oh? You seem very sure of yourself. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think you believe you own me."
The words brought a self-satisfied grin to Jaffe's lips that she couldn't stop from forming. Gabi had a point. Honestly, Jaffe was arrogantly sure of herself. She had watched Gabi for an inordinate amount of time before the previous night. She had seen her at work, both in the human and claimant world, but kept her distance. There had been no need to approach before finding out where Ballafex (or someone else comparable) was just as there was no reason to approach Ballafex without a heavy hitter like Gabi. It was really a two-for-one that Gabi was strong enough to help. Jaffe had wanted her as soon as she learned of her - way back when the Testua was an Order claimant - for the fact that she had wings alone. There weren't many claimants with a trait like that; much less one with such a storied history. She had to have her. That had been years ago that Gahbriogyva was added to her Wanted List, almost a part of that other life Jaffe led... As the pale woman pushed her against the wall, water streaming down her body as if trying desperately to accentuate her curves, Jaffe half wondered if this was going to be the last thing she ever saw. But it couldn't be - the signs weren't there. Her heartbeat was deceptively relaxed for someone who could be in mortal danger. Still, something in her gut roared like an eternal flame - she knew Gabi felt it too. This was pure, raw excitement. This was reckless abandon; this was taking stupid, blind chances; this was desire unadulterated and uncut. Both women were slaves to it. Neither seemed to mind too much. While it was true Jaffe didn't know what to expect, Gabi putting shampoo in her hair was nowhere on the list. Jaffe was pleasantly surprised, almost flinching at the motion. What the hell was this?! "Clean yourself up first before you ask me for anything," the pale woman was saying. Her words and actions were so casual yet also controlled. She knew she could be doing something else. Jaffe didn't want to admit that the softness behind Gabi massaging her scalp felt ridiculously good. To be honest, there were probably many people who wouldn't believe that Gabi could touch anything besides her wings so softly. "Besides, I won’t tolerate anything so undignified when my nosy parents could easily be right around the corner. Have at least a shred of class." The Testua's jaw dropped slightly at that - quickly amended by Gabi placing a kiss as soft as her hands on the woman's lips. All of the softness in comparison to the night before was so foreign Jaffe felt heat rising to her cheeks as she blushed. The blush was quickly followed up by a confused feeling of weakness at having blushed in the first place. "And if you want a reward, earn it first." That, she understood. That, she could do. It seemed like the interactions were jarring for both women because the idea of true vulnerable intimacy was completely foreign. They were both used to getting their way. Jaffe knew coming into this that she would have to bare her belly to Gahbriogyva, let the winged woman see she was not necessarily a threat despite the fact that she knew she was. Yet she had not expected this. She had not expected to be flustered by something as simple as putting shampoo in her hair. It was a moment that sorely reminded her of Arthur. When Gabi left the shower, she left Jaffe behind. The water claimant enjoyed the scalding hot water on her skin. It was entertaining to watch the black and blue blood swirl together towards the drain. It could be seen as poetic by some. She couldn't tell how long she spent in there since the water stayed hot the whole time. There was no way to avoid smelling like Gabi now. From the shampoo to the soap, she smelled like Gahbriogyva's little toy. It was especially funny considering she was almost twice Gabi's age in human years. ɴᴏᴡ ɪ'ᴠᴇ ɢᴏᴛ ɪᴛ, ɪ ꜰᴇᴇʟ ꜱɪᴄᴋ
Arthur was likely still sleeping. The apartment seemed like it was empty, which Jaffe supposed she could not be too surprised by this early in the morning. The sniper, Jillian, was probably getting picked up by Child Services because someone had mistaken her age; and Eric, the loud one, could probably be terrorizing some street food vendors or something. She didn't necessarily know or care what Eric was doing - Jillian was much more of a threat and therefore warranted many more tabs being kept on her. The one bullet of Jillian's that Jaffe had found and stolen was probably the only reason she didn't have to constantly worry about crosshairs on her forehead. Normally, there wouldn't have been a need to stop by Arthur's. However, he had been sure to tell her the only way she could get the nunchaku he had made for her was in person. Their arrangement was still strange to her - she had tried to kill him and he only way he let her walk away from it was by agreeing to go to a massage he scheduled for her. It had been confusing then and it was confusing now. She tried not to scrutinize it too closely or it would make her head hurt. The six-foot-tall woman stalked through the apartment like a cat intent on finding prey until she arrived at Arthur's room. The portal she had used to traverse the realms in order to arrive there dissipated into a plume of mist. Arthur's door was locked but that was no barrier for her - normally she could pick the lock or simply slip through a crack in the door, but there was no need for that... Since Arthur had given her a key the very first time she ever came over. The wooden door swung open easily, though the water claimant was careful in making sure it didn't bounce off of the wall. Arthur's room was organized and clean save for the clothes he had taken off to crawl into bed lying on the floor next to his bed. His comforter hung halfway off his body, his upper torso and back exposed as he slumbered facedown in his pillow. He seemed peaceful though she knew even if he was in a coma she probably wouldn't be able to hurt him. Jaffe stood beside his bed just listening to him breathe for at least a minute. He seemed peaceful. Then she slapped his shoulder, demanding he "Wake up." The man stirred once, twice - inky black hair swirling across the pillow before he lifted his head up to peek at her. "Good morning to you too," the man of legend grumbled. He yawned lightly, turning over in the large bed to rub at his eyes. Once he set them on her he involuntarily flinched a little, though he was now fully awake. "You're naked."She had almost forgotten. Almost. "I am. Do you have the nunchaku?" "Is that really how you're going to greet me? You're not going to get in bed? I can get naked too." His voice was low and husky with the lingering sleepiness. It really was enticing. She heavily considered taking him up on his offer... "I'm working," the woman responded, almost flatly so as to discourage him from trying even harder to change her mind. "Ah, the working woman. What's the target? Or I guess I should ask who." The man stretched lightly before flinging the blanket off and rustling himself out of bed. He was wearing boxers and pajama pants - Jaffe could tell because of the waistband peeking over the top of the blue pants. "I'll tell you when I get back." "Must be something big." He padded barefoot over to his closet, throwing the doors open and tossing another yawn over his shoulder. He disappeared into the walk-in closet for almost thirty seconds before the clinking sound of chains indicated he found what he was looking for. "Well, these are still more of a draft than a final product," the dark-haired man was explaining. "I wanted to get better blades added in but I haven't had the chance." He handed them over to her. Jaffe took the two weapons from him and held them up in the morning light. She couldn't tell the material they were made of but most of them appeared red with a bit of gold detail. Jaffe actually felt a smile tugging at her lips at the sight of them. They were definitely a solid replacement for her current pair. "These are fine," the Testua finally said. When he noticed her smile it brought a grin to his lips as well. "Try them out. I'll get you some clothes."
Arthur was more of a gentleman than Jaffe Testua ever deserved and she knew that. She just didn't understand why it seemed like he didn't know it. Or maybe he did and ignored it. Whatever his reasoning was, she simply accepted she did not really understand him. The water claimant made herself busy with practicing with her new toys as Arthur went to various drawers and back into his closet to pull out clothes he kept for her. She was working, so he decided for something more tactical rather than the casual evening wear he'd like to see her in. He knew making another suggestion for them to have sex would fall on deaf ears since she was working and likely tunnel-visioned, but he couldn't deny that he wanted to. She must've known she was a tease. He distracted himself with the clothes - jeans, t-shirt, socks, bra - what was he missing? He brought the clothes out and set them on the bed for Jaffe to inspect. She dutifully began putting them on with minimal fuss, but stopped when she reached her underwear. "A thong?" She laughed this time. "Really?"
He grinned bashfully. "Look, it's what I have here, okay?""And not because you wanted to see me in it at all?" "Nope."
She laughed again as she finished putting everything on. The clothes were plain but comfortable. She figured he was living one of his dreams of getting to dress her with all the clothes he was gifting her all the time. If she was being honest with herself, some of these items fit better than what she bought for herself... "How long will you be gone?" Arthur asked idly as he returned to his bed. "Think you're gonna miss me?" "Of course. And I think at least one person should look for you if you don't come back."
Jaffe ran her fingers through blonde hair that stopped just below her armpits as she considered the question. It made sense to tell him where she was going; she just didn't want him trying to stop her. Once a long moment had passed and Jaffe still didn't seem like she was going to tell him anything, Arthur simply shrugged it off. "Fine, don't tell me. But would it kill whoever's biting you to be a little gentler? You look a bit... beat up. If I'm being honest."The water claimant couldn't help but laugh again as she tightened the straps on her tactical vest. ꜱᴏ ᴀᴅᴅɪᴄᴛᴇᴅ, ɪ ᴄᴀɴ'ᴛ ʀᴇꜱᴛ
Gahbriogyva was no longer in her bedroom. Jaffe returned to the farmhouse expecting Gabi to be easy to find, but she wasn't. Jaffe took the lack of supervision as a chance to snoop a bit in the darkness claimant's room, but didn't dare touch anything. Gabi had already mentioned Jaffe smelling like chickens but hadn't put two-and-two together - Jaffe didn't need any more complications. Gabi did not need to know everything so soon. Jaffe decided the best way to find the woman would probably be to ask someone. The land that Gahbreal and Cyva owned was much too big for Jaffe to be bothered combing through every square inch. She recited to herself the itinerary of the morning as she exited Gabi's room: go down to Butter Doll's for a briefing and breakfast and meet up with Nica to exchange details on Ballafex's whereabouts. Not too difficult, surely. They could handle that without anyone dying, right? Right. The long-legged former soccer player exited Gabi's room quietly and made her way downstairs. The house seemed to be waking up now with servants moving about. Jaffe wondered if they were paid in cash or threats to their lives. She wondered again why any claimant would serve as a maid or butler to another but figured it boiled down to either power levels or something as simple as not wanting to find a different job. Being a servant to this family surely had to have its perks... Room and board were covered, meals were included, they could have lives when not on the clock... Well, everyone, it seemed, but Gabi's personal assistant Mist. Jaffe was convinced the fellow Testua never slept. Jaffe almost crept out the front door when she heard a throat clear behind her. She turned tentatively, figuring it was for her. Gahbreal sat at the kitchen island looking over a newspaper with a curious look on his handsome features. Jaffe had to keep herself from licking her lips at the sight. "Good morning," she greeted the man. Gahbreal's red eyes smoldered. It was amazing how Gabi had inherited one of his best features - outside of his cheekbones. Jaffe could only fantasize what Gabi would look like if she had gotten an ounce of the depth of his delicious chocolate skin. Gahbreal jerked his head toward the east. "She's at her truck.""Thanks. Hey, does Cyva have any more of that bread?" "Probably. Y'all enjoy your walk last night?" "Immensely." She let a smirk pull at her lips. "I think I'll come back for more of that bread later. If that's okay."He shrugged. "I'm sure Cyva would be fine with that. Just do me one solid?""What's that?" "Just... keep an eye on her. Don't let her kill anyone she's going to regret."
Jaffe threw her left hand up to her temple nonchalantly in a lazy salute. "Yes, sir. I will keep an eye on her and you'll make sure I get more bread. It's a good deal." They both nodded in agreement to each other and Jaffe was off to find the Dimea woman. The blonde woman made her way to the east side of the house. Despite wearing boots her steps were deceptively and naturally light. The sound of an engine soon met her ears and Jaffe figured that was the truck Gahbreal had mentioned. Jaffe rounded the last corner of the large farmhouse and was finally faced with a truck that was much larger than she would've anticipated. Then again, it didn't make better sense to see Gabi in a sedan. Jaffe wondered why she hadn't seen anyone drive the thing since she'd begun watching the house weeks ago. Gabi was already sitting expectantly in the front seat smoking a cigarette. Jaffe slid into the unlocked passenger easily, noting there was already at least one cigarette butt lying in an ashtray. Half of her mind tried convincing her to take a pull from Gabi's cigarette - take it from the darkness claimant's lips and put it back. But the look on Gabi's face made it known she was not in the happiest of moods; plus, Jaffe had no business picking up such a bad habit. It was funny - they were both working now and the overwhelmingly sexual energy between them had to be put on the backburner. "Nice truck," the water claimant observed. "Compensating for something?" She chuckled at her own joke. Taking a closer look at Gabi, Jaffe inquired aloud as she gestured to the pale woman's back, "Is it uncomfortable to hide them like that? Where do they go? I sure hope you aren't hiding them because of me. I thought you were stronger than losing a couple of feathers, little bird." -- ɪ'ᴍ ʟᴏꜱᴛ ɪɴꜱɪᴅᴇ ᴍʏ ʜᴇᴀᴅ quoted song: i feel alive by kordhell & scarlxrd
