The Creator of Them All, Extius the Original
Before there was a such thing as a 'beginning' there was Extius. He who had unlimited power; he whose omnipotence and control knew no bounds. Even the Citadel, which holds records on everything that has ever existed, has no information on the enigma that is Extius. For a long while, Extius was content to sit in his Void and just be. He grew tired of it, though, finding existence with no companionship pointless.
The Creation of the Cores
Thus led to the creation of the Cores. From these the first daughters of Extius emerged: he named the first Echowix and her younger sister Ilnonta. The daughters were given the domains of time and space respectively, though the responsibilities of such things hindered them at a young age. They began feuding with one another over disagreements on how they should control their respective cores: Echowix, who was time, preferred order; Ilnonta, as all that remained, reveled in entropy.
Echowix became frustrated with her sister's disobedience as her disdain for the passive nature of her Core grew. In her anger, she selfishly stole the Cores and created the Citadel, a realm where she could control everything in it. In her continued selfishness, she thought she could create a set of twins whom she convinced herself that, unlike her sister, these twins would be perfect. Thus we were given Novea and Novevu: Life and Death.
Predictably, Novea and Novevu did not get along. Novea, who was Life, borrowed knowledge from the Citadel and created Elysian, which we have come to equate to heaven. She took upon herself the responsibility of governing the creation of souls and their fates until the end of Echowix herself.
Novevu, furious that he was not privy to the same information and envious of how hard he had to work so hard for it, stole the first of many Manuscripts and took control of the Void - putting the creator of them all, Extius the Original, to sleep.
The Perversion of the Cores
In their disparate pursuits for perfection, each of the Ancients began using the Cores to create more children. Novevu, the master of Death, created Xaina, whose Core was Light; the mistress of Life Novea came to create Xainayne from the Core of Darkness.
There was a pause in the creation of Ancients for a time, though it eventually continued with Xaina and Xainayne created Jaiho and and Jayhe--Chaos and Order. Disaster struck when Xainayne murdered Jaiho, which drove Xaina into a fury that resulted in Phita, who became Fire, and the symbol for destruction and war.
The Creation of the Three Swords
This constant abuse of power led to Echowix and Ilnonta putting their differences aside to create the remaining Ancients in an attempt to balance things. After each was brought to life, Extius, sensing his waning powers, awoke. He was inconsolable about the fact that they had taken all of his power and used it so selfishly, so he created three Swords to gift humans: The Soul Breaker, Core Crater, and Void Swallower. The three were equally dangerous and equally lethal to each and every Ancient.
Present Day
Ancients created Treasures as their heirs and heiresses. The dual function of these Treasures were that, in times of conflict, they could be beacons for humanity; though more importantly, that they could replace their Ancients if it ever came down to it.
All members are born from the Cores, and all members will die when the Cores are dimished--they are lost to us all inside the Citadel, which in itself is lost. This means it is inevitable that without direct access to the Cores, these Ancients will eventually perish. Time will drain them of their power as they did Extius, getting weaker and weaker with each iteration of their bloodline.
There is an understanding among the Ancients that they will not kill each other nor one another's Treasures, but that is not to say times are without tension. The throne remains empty. Without someone on it, things will continue in a slow downward spiral, getting worse and worse until one day we wake up to a time with no Ancients, and all of the magic, wonder, and known realms gone. Just gone.
You
Join the fight as a Claimant of one of 18 houses. Do you think you have what it takes to survive this?

Essential Vocabulary
Ancient: The head of an elemental house, these individuals are what humans have come to know as their deities. They were the first made individuals from the cores themselves. Most of them were created as a result of another Ancient. The two major lines are: The life and death line; otherwise known as Alpha and Epsilon.
Core: A Core is where the source of an element lies, large orbs they are omnipotent and give purpose and life to all whom use their sacred energy. To ensure their safety, they are stored within the Citadel, a healthy house is a house that has access directly to their Core. Without the Core, a house and element cease to exist. There are currently sixteen original Cores.
Treasure:
The heir or heiress to an elemental house. These individuals are the biologically related children of the Ancient who created them and therefore act as placeholders or miniature Ancients when their parents are not around.
House: A house is derived from the surname of the Ancient. In layman’s term, that means the element your claimant possesses is based off that. Example: House of Water: Testua
Aikekunai: Ai-ki-ku-nai {Translated into English, it means ‘Amalgamated soul’}
Individuals who have lived and served either one house or many houses. They have access to their previous lives and abilities. Considered about as important as the Treasures in regards to keeping any which house afloat.
Thetaponier / Thetaponia: The-ta-pon-i-er (m) | The-ta-pon-ia (f) {Translated into English it means ‘The Champion Of’}
Individuals who have risen through the ranks, to every house there is usually one champion. They act as the unofficial spokesperson on behalf of the claimants beneath them and in the event of the individuals above being disposed of, they take control of the house.
Claimant:
An individual who through either birth or specific creation may utilise one of the elements directly. Considered the lowest ranked member of any house. They each have a personal relationship with their Ancient and strive to please and serve, this is in the ultimate hope of becoming an Aikekunai.
Hybrid:
Thus far the least is known about these individuals however, they are hunted for their dual natures. Capable of holding two elements at a time, many of the others mentioned do not respect these individuals for they break the balance of nature. Many do not live to see adulthood, those who do live knowing they have a target on their backs.

Timeline name and order
The Citadel
The main storyline that ties each and every event. This is where the majority of the storyline is centred, it is especially important to follow along as you may find yourself lost otherwise.
Side stories: Just as important, they add to the immersion.
Revolutionary Ember {To be revived}
Set during the Spanish inquisition, the houses of Death and Chaos were at war. Many other Claimants were choosing at the time to disregard tradition and began to create their own personal sects within their houses. Thus, causing internal civil wars and leaving those who were otherwise innocent affected by the question: Whether or not to remain loyal to the Ancients. This culminated in a deadly war across Europe. As a result, many lives were lost and to this day the house of Death has never forgiven the house of Chaos.
Workhouse Oblivion {In Progress}
Set during the prevalence of the Workhouses in England, Scotland and Ireland at the time, this harrowing and heartbreaking thread details in part the last twelve months of three Claimants’ lives; all who found themselves forcibly placed in Workhouses against their will. Unlike previous threads, this is written primarily through the individual eyes of the person rather than as a collaborative piece.
Dream Sequence {To begin soon}
Set during the years just prior to the French Revolution. The kingdom of France is in horrible debt and the people are thinking of revolting, oh how did it come to this? How did one man's paradise become a nation's purgatory? Join the claimants who were in the midst of all the royal scandal from directly between the Queen's legs, to the whispers of murder in the dark; to most horrifying of all a bastard royal baby. This tale tells the story of how and why claimants were ban from being part of human nobility and royalty; and most importantly; why claimants, and ancients alike will never bleed red.
Bloodstain Chalice {In Progress}
The most recent of the threads, apart from The Citadel is Bloodstain Chalice. Set in the years just prior to the end of the American Mafia, this thread details the sudden disappearance and theft of the Bloodstain Chalice, an artefact owned by the Ancient of Darkness. Creatures that should not exist in nature have begun to appear and so it is a race against time for the team sent to deal with the mess; as they are living in a time where humans are becoming increasingly hostile towards the Claimants and the Ancients themselves.

Summary of the elements
Elements exhibit differently in every claimant, some abilities fall under umbrella groups, however abilities are as unique as the individual themselves. Please keep that in mind, that if you’re creating a character and another writer has a character that already has a similar if not identical ability, you will be asked to adjust/rethink your claimant’s ability. [The Primordial Line]
Null — Vickan The opposite of the known elements. One does not survive an attack from Null. Null is considered a forbidden element, it does not have a Core because it should not by nature exist at all. Sometimes mistaken for Dark-Matter. Little is known about this element because there are only two users, Extius and Levei.
Time — Eternai The element of Time is best described as threads, that one can touch. To time claimants, their element feels like silken strings that are attached to their fingers, tugging on a thread will lead them somewhere or return them. Whilst they cannot alter other individuals or their fates, they can change the circumstances that their fellow claimants are in.
Space — Invoa This element is not visible to anyone but the house of Space. The best way to describe it is with your hands try to create a perfect visible pocket, it’s difficult for us to do so, for space claimants doing just that will solidify the space in-between and reveal it. They also have a hold on Gravity, therefore one must be very careful to watch their step, as you’ve no clue if the ground you’re walking on is about to become the sky. [The Epsilon Line]Death — DesdonAs the name might suggest, this element encompasses all those who have died, or will die eventually. Considered by some to be the most dangerous element apart from Null. Those with a touch of Desdon in their veins do not live as others do, they do not have a detectable Aura, making them difficult for the aforementioned life claimants to notice them. Generally speaking, Desdon is considered the oldest in regards to the formation of claimants and therefore has the biggest number of members, their abilities range anywhere from siphoning the soul out of someone to raising the dead, or communicating with ghosts and spirits. One might confuse necromancy as a sect of life, however that is not the case. Those who are resurrected by a Death claimant do not have a soul and have no free will, they are merely shells meant to fulfil a purpose. Light — ContusReferring to beams of light, the current of light and hope itself. Light is considered one of the most volatile elements not because it is pretty to look at but because it uses are mysterious and varied. Light acts both as an offensive and defensive element. Imagine just for a moment, fighting an opponent only for them to disappear in a flash of light, and for the rest of the fight to be done with them being invisible, untraceable. Some of the most legendary Light claimants have managed to create vast impenetrable walls of light that will eat up anyone who dare attempt to scale them, all for the sake of protecting a child. Chaos – Gimnai
These claimants don't necessarily have the best intentions when they are ordering each other about. It has it uses of trapping those with untasteful motives in their own designs, the element has connections to the moral compass of many souls, but with the added unpredictability of creatures with free will. However that being said, there may be many good things, just as there are many terrible things. Chaos doesn't mean darkness or evil, it means original and unexpected. But often people will use that unpredictability to do and cause harm to great amounts of people as it cannot be stopped through logical thinking and basic military tactics.
Fire — Rhihon Dangerous, seductive and ever consuming. Fire is the force behind some of the biggest disasters in the record that is human history, Fire is not only warmth or a weapon to be used against your enemies but rather the destruction of the soul, the forbidden lust for someone you can never love. Claimants who wield fire walk a fine line between being truly alive and being extinguished. Fire is the house where in which the most violent may find peace and the most beautiful a home of which there is no competition in order to prove one's completeness. It is the last line before the worlds come to an end and it is the first thing that sparks a revolution. Air — Qwidu Fluid movement, air is both a fluid and a solid force, it sleeps within all of our veins it breaths over us like a lover's caress, most claimants can fly, in this house but a rare few can utilise it to make storms, to choke the air out of the very cells within a creature's body, make a smoke screen, clouds... many presume that Air is useless because it cannot be seen, but like many of the elements on this list you'll have realised that there is so much potential to each of the elements it just depends on how you choose to use them. [The Alpha Line]Life — OriguiThis element does not necessarily mean you can bring to life a creature of your desires; however, it does allow for the physical transformation of the claimant. Furthermore, the element of life is not necessarily always a force for good. Primarily used to tug heart strings and heal, the element of life feels like a sudden warm breeze on a cold day. Life claimants, can also detect other forms of life through their distinctive elemental auras. Dark — DimeaOtherwise styled as Dark(ness), this element is responsible for the shadows that lurk under your bed, the madness in your father's veins. Though not necessarily evil, Darkness is a hard force to swallow and for those who use the element, a ticking time bomb sits atop their conscious, for they don't necessarily know whether or not the next use of the element will cause their downfall into madness. They're usually the hardest of the group to get along with, primarily because they prefer to be alone — this is a precaution meant to protect others who might be around them from being drawn in by the whisper of corruptive power, the type of power that will eat you alive and spit you out as nothing but a corpse. Order– WoxiaEverything in moderation is the key to any house's success. Natural dictator of innocent and guilty. Order falls somewhere between Light and Dark, being neither good or bad. It seeks a balance between all things good and bad to create a reality where the truth and facts prevail. A member of the House of Order would have a stringent moral compass and stubborn disposition, often failing to see beyond what can be proven or seen directly. Most other houses will go to those of Order to settle disputes and they will often be found to be the fairest judge on things such as large as the Rules of War or as trivial as children's chore schedules. But with this, there is a great responsibility and it is imperative for members to hold each other accountable for any possible... deviations. While these are unusual, human nature is a fickle thing.
Water — Testua Is water not the liquid that keeps life alive? Its slippery depths are dark and scary. Water is the element that does not shy from the battle, the fiercest enemy of the house of fire, water is a lonely path, there is no such thing as calm water. Water claimants come in pairs, normally because like solo water droplets they're stronger in teams. They are capable of breathing under water to great depths and explore places that many of us can only dream of, they are the creatures of the depths that we've yet to meet. A solo water claimant is a scary water claimant because you've no clue when they'll turn to liquid or boil your blood. Earth — Kinoz Earth is the element of minerals like diamonds, and clay, please be aware that the Earth is not to be confused with Metal or Nature though it does not mean that an Earth claimant is useless, gifted abilities from the very core of the realms they stand on, Earth claimants are hardy and loyal, but are destructive when pushed. They create mountains and blast valleys into places otherwise untouched. Nature — Fovey Whilst we have introduced life, that does involve plant life or animal life. The element of life speaks strongly though Nature but it is not its master. Nature claimants have the innate ability to communicate to both plants and animals, though many claimants will usually exhibit talents with either group. Nature claimants are tied in with the house of Death just as much has the house of Death is tied in with Nature. Though reliant on many other houses for support and survival, do not discount that nature can be dangerous if you allow yourself to turn your back on the beasts in the dark. Metal — Mucmoi Metal refers to materials forged in fire, or capable of being moulded by fire. Being able to pull from the ground below you, the riches that are there. Metal claimants are often known for pulling weapons out of the ground and killing their opponents with whatever it is they find. Grand weapon makers and menders, the house of Metal is known for constructing vast feats of architecture and beautiful weapons of mass destruction. Metal claimants also have no want for money, for why would you need money when you can conjure up gold at the snap of a finger of a wink of the eye? Electricity — PostnosThis is the house most drawn towards humans, Electricity is where the inventions and the 'magic of creativity' happen, sometimes confused for being a lesser element because of its connections to other elements. Electricity should be treated as its own dangerous force, when combined with Air it calls for storms and thunder, when combined with water one might find themselves the meal of another. electricity runs through the veins of all, making hiding secrets difficult for others when in contact with an electricity claimant. Ice — WidweimIce was accidental, until it wasn't. Many confuse Ice for being another part of water. However water is liquid and Ice is solid, water will drown where Ice will freeze and shatter. Ice claimants are proud to be cold and crude, they're proud to scream at the top of their lungs their superiority over other claimants. A proud house is sometimes considered a mad house, don't you think? Ice claimants create freezers where there are no freezers and snow when they're overly happy. 'Ice Ice Baby' is the anthem of many. [The Celestial Line]
Please note the Celestial Line is currently off limits to general members of the Citadel community, for reasons that will be explained upon request. There are some characters who do fall under these houses however, it was only after much consideration and planning that the characters were approved. The information here is merely so that you are aware of the line but you should not expect for immediate approval if you do choose to create a claimant under either of these houses.
Sun – ExciaA perversion of the Rhihon and Contus core, this element is blessed with the glow that often accommodates the house of Light and the heat that comes from the house of Fire. A good lethal mix of the finer qualities of both aforementioned houses, the house of Soleix has been hunted to the ends of the realms by other claimants there is a bounty on their heads set by the house of Desdon for crimes committed by their ancient Solaria. Most of the claimants here have killed another claimant in order to be given the title of a member of the house of Sun. Moon – LunA perversion of the Testua and Dimea core, this element encompasses the hunt and the urge to drive one's prey to the ground by all means necessary. Unlike the previous house which has a bounty, this house has managed to slip under the radar by keeping not only to themselves but to their realm, able to call upon the properties of the house of Water and the manic energy of the house of darkness. It is led by the twin sister to Solaria, Lunia. The most animalistic and wild of the claimants who are not quite themselves are found here, in order to join this house you must avoid becoming prey, do you think you have what it takes?
